I was thinking about this the other day... not with those two... but in general.
The last few years ski companies have focused more on color blocking than prints in regards to clothing design.
Snowboarding companies have focused more on prints....
A lot more color blocking showing up in the snowboard industry for next years gear.
I assume it is because you can get a bit more wear out of a color blocked item than a printed one as far as fashion goes. And tough economy means the snowboarders want color blocks!
I've also been noticing a lot more play on textures... Spyder had an amazing solid black jacket last year using texture blocking..... loved that jacket.
So... sessions didnt rip oakley off by any means, but the trend does come a bit more from the ski apparel side.
