Hey NS, just wondering does a ski company's team infuence your decision on buying a certain product for example does the armada team which has mike hornbeck, tanner etc influence you to buy armada's and another question would anyone NS'r ride Kastle ???
you mean the hugo harrison pro mx128 isn't fat enough? kastle's are insanely well built skis, if you can afford them and like burly, indestructible skis they're perfect.
alright I should have specified...
Although I haven't skied anything made by Kastle since I was 5 or so, I assume that the Hugo model is stiff, cambered and bomber as hell. Which sounds like a fun ski and I would love to try a pair. But I was referring to making rockered skis and fun shapes although, those dont seem very "Kastle".
and now just looking at the kastle website. The 195 108 sounds like it would be a dope ski for everyday charging and freeski comps. But I bet it would be even better with a slight tip rocker.
Kastle make some sick skis. Loved the mx 108 would be a great mixed condition/go as fast as gravity will let me type ski. If u like burly and abusive the mx 108 would be a great daily driver
For me teams have absolutely no influence on my gear buying decisions. Usually I know what sort of size and shape I'm looking for and quite often that leaves me with only 1 or sometimes 2 choices. I usually then read reviews or demo them if I can then look for deals and buy them.
I couldn't give 2 shits about who gets paid to say they're awesome.
eric pollards riding style is one of the key factors that convinced me to buy an ep pro...
call me dumb or whatever for falling for such a marketing ploy but it sure worked, and seeing nimbus en route nomads only makes me more stoked to ride em this winter !
everyone can say what they want but teams always influence their buys.
example: how many people were buying atomic twins before jossi wells was on their team? how many people buy dynastar twins now that candide isn't on their team? i remember not being able to go to a hill without counting 4 people on a dynastar candide pro model.
remember the first year that armada produced skis? i do and a shitload of people bought them and had nothing but problems with them. why did people buy them? well, tanner hall, jf cusson, and jp auclair all rode them so they had to be good.
if line came out with something similar to the ep pro with out pollard on the team, how many people would buy it?
lets face it, pro teams are the number one marketing tool for ski companies and are one of the biggest influencers for consumers.
the team members themselves dont influance me much (unless maybe the team is all unknowns), but i think its alot more about the companys IMAGE for me and alot of people.
