Wear Red Tomorrow for My Friend

Last saturday my friend tried to commit suicide, and is in the hospital in critical condition. Hes in an induced coma and in induced hypothermia for no further brain damage. We are trying to get as many people as possible to wear red tomorrow, even if you are many miles away and dont know him. His name is Cody Botten and there are many groups on facebook for his support. All of the support is greatly appreciated, i just hope he makes it through.

No one knows.. He was a happy kid all the time, it was very unexpected. He was always a normal kid and got all of the ladies, i have great memories with him, and its very confusing for everyone that knew him.

I know how you feel man, I've have 4 friends try to kill themselves, 3 of which succeeded, it's always a very confusing and emotionally hard time. The hardest part is they usually always seem like there is nothing wrong (in fact, with one of them another friend was talking to him on IM until 3AM and didn't notice anything wrong, he showed me the history of the conversation and the kid even said "I'll see you tomorrow man" and then two hours later he was gone), but there's something in their head that say they can't deal with life anymore, it's very sad. +vibes to you, your friends, and the family of this kid man - I hope he pulls through and realizes it was a huge mistake and that people love him and would miss him if he was gone.

It didn't happen all at once - it was over the span of probably 3 or 4 years, but yeah, it's NEVER easy, and unfortunately, it's much to common for high school/college kids to contemplate.

Yeah, my dad died when i was in third grade, and im a sophmore in highschool now, its so hard to imagine what itll be like without him..

man this is going to sound bad but the truth is, the last thing he's going to want is a bunch of kids at his school wearing a color in support of him. he's going to be really embarrassed and what he needs is just regular friends and a LOT of professional help. if anything, he's not going to want to have to walk through school having everyone feel bad for him because that's going to be really detrimental to his state whatever that may be. to try suicide to where he came very close to succeeding, that's past the point of trying to get attention. i mean i hope he pulls through and everything because that's horrible but i think you may be going about it the wrong way, even though your heart is in the right place. again, hope he pulls through.

Hey man, very sorry to hear about this. I went to check the facebook group, and now i am kinda confused. Why are there so many fucked photos on his recovery group? Cuz thats fucked up. Who ever made that should close that thing up and make a new one, or none at all. I mean that is so fucked. Not cool.

I should clarify, by fucked photos i mean there is a photo of a man stretching his anus very wide and other dumb shit.

Yeah, somehow 4chan and ebaumsworld got on it and did that stuff.. Its is extremely immature and terrible.. Flag the people if you can, and all of the people have supporting him he'll realize he has people that care for him and love him. Tomorrow, the 15th, is wear blue and white, for angles and peace, and blue is one of his favorite colors.

at my school were all making bracelets and shirts and what not. but there were also some kids from mt. si (where he goes) and i guess you do to OP that apparently were photoshopping disrespectful pictures about Cody. by the way i would like to apologize for my childish language and behavior on a thread that actually does have a lot of meaning. i wasnt thinking at the time and id would like to express my deepest apology to anyone i may have offended (OP and kid i yelled at) sorry to all. when i wrote on it i had no intent in any way shape or form of having me bitching/ranting/"being a dumbass" (which i was at the time) to Cody, codys family, and the whole event that ensued in the last week. just wanted to get that off my chest since some people thought it was rude that i did on this thread. now thinking back to the fact, it was. im sorry ns and AALT.
