bored on crutches

Ok so I tore my acl and because I did some other stuff too I have to be on crutches till surgery. When I was at school in rez it was ok because people were always around, but at home I'm so ridiculously bored. anyone got any ideas of things to keep me occupied?

when my sister broke her knee, she was on crutches for ages and couldnt go to school, so she was stuck at home in summer, so she just got on with things and still went out and did stuff, if that helps at all.

When is your surgery? Chances are you wont be on your crutches for more then a few days. I tore my acl and I didnt use crutches before surgery, and I only used crutches for 4 days after surgery. Best of luck with the surgery! It sucks, but at least you are getting it done in the spring so you will be able to ski next winter.

ok well i just had my surgery like a month ago and i was incredibly bored the whole time i was on crutches before and like 2 weeks after so uh i dont know exactly what i did but i watched a lot of tv and got good at balancing on them and stuff but other then that i would like do my hair all the time or play on the internet there isnt a lot you can do have fun and good luck with it

attempt 360s....
1) on your good leg, jump with all your might
2) in the air, use your crutches and arms to propel you around
3) MOST IMPORTANT: land on your GOOD LEG

you;ll get the hang of it, and soon enough, you can start starting from off of park benches and slippery sidewalks...also, if you get good enough a 5 would make you better than me

u don't need crutches yet HA!shit i skied 2 months straight with my torn acl till the day of surgery, my advice is to take it easy, but use it while you can, you have a long road ahead of you, LOL, hope u C a good doc:

I actually also have a torn mcl, meniscus, and when i fell i hyperextended my knee so the bones smushed together and I got hairline fractures in my femur... so yes I really do need crutches now cause when I don't use them it hurts a lot! I've been on crutches since my injury, feb 21st. I'm seeing a surgeon on friday and will find out my surgery date then. hopefully it's soon!

when i broke my ankle a little bit ago, i had to sit in bed and elevate my foot for 3 or 4 weeks. just sit there and watch tv. its fuckin boring though.

Try walking with JUST the crutches... see if you can get more than 5-7 steps.. it's so sketchy, and your arm-pits hurt after a while.

ok, then your going to need an x-box, some chronic, and 1/2 keg (your choice), the hospital will give you most likely provide the vicodin... and try to enjoy it, just think no work, and people wait on u hand and foot, just try not to eat as much, i went from burning so many calories skiing everyday to watching repeats of the chapelle show, and put on about 15 pounds, plus you'll never take good health for granted again

That is a very extensive injuries, but you shouldnt be on crutches at this point. After you get done with surgery, you gotta suck it up, and push yourself. That is how your body heals, limping around, or using crutches is just going to slow your recovery. My doctor promotes agressive recovery, I took his advice, and my knee has healed faster then anyone else Ive Known that has had knee surgery. Your problems are much more significant then mine, but if you want your knee to be normal again, you gotta put forth the effort.

when i was on crutches i went to an amusement park (i think thats what you call them in the US) anyway, you go to the front of every line. no waiting. its a shame i dont really like them.

start doin mad 3's with ur crutches. i prolly did a 1000 when i had them. just turn 180 plant and spin. that and work on stallin on diff shit. its fun. this time last year i was in school with them and it absoultly sucked ass. but i got through it

at least crutches will make your arms/ sholders huge, keep 'em up and you won't have to worry about injuring those, have fuckin surgery already and get pumped for lots of physical theropy, maybe u will be able to ski in whistler come july, if not, take up a sport like golf or frolth that gets u outdoors and doesn't require the use of legs. shoot trap or boarders
