repost or not i want facts and of what i just saw on youtube and on the news of this DUMBASS burning the Q'uran bible today.
i want to know what you guys think on this how it makes you feel to live in america rite now. In my opinion it down right humiliates america that someone would think to disgrace ones religion. It makes me feel embarrassed to live in america now, want to move to Canada.
so now i see over there they are protesting "AMERICA IS DEAD" and scares me a little to know what the fuck are they gonna do now with the love they all have for there religion. not only has that FUCK brought danger and fear to america but also to the TROOPS over there right now!! i just had to let this out being the american i am, wether youve heard this or not./rant over

Its completely fine and noone should make such a big deal about it but at this point in time, its caused such an up stirring that its much better to just give up the idea. Its just going to cause more problems.

yeah i thought about that to when i was at work today, and i guess we able to shrug it off and be the bigger man sometimes,and also because were such a diverse country that the quran bible is practiced here by some as well as any religion people want to believe. but over there they revolve their world with religion and you fuck with there religion they wont be happy so they burn our religion and our flag in attempt to my guess make us feel hurt and show there hate for us.

Dude. Come on. Just because for most people in our generation (people who are in high school/ college at this point) who live in America don't put a lot of weight in religion doesn't mean that other people don't. It's important to understand that the Q'uran, to a lot of people, isn't just a bunch of "bedtime stories". It's serious business, and to call it trivial is being extremely disrespectful and ignorant, and that kind of attitude is what leads to something like the burning of Q'urans.

I agree with you in the broad sense that religion shouldn't control people, but I also understand why people would get so furious about this.

i know its very disrespectful, but it doesnt harm anyone, at all, not one bit. i hate people who burn American flags, it angers me and i find it extremely disrespectful, but if i saw someone burning a flag the most i would do is yell at them, i would never go as far as to do anything physical, even threaten to do anything physical.
i understand that they find it disrespectful, and thats fine, because it is. but to take it as far as they do is just pathetic and weak.

I liken the Islamic theocracies to colonial America 300 years ago--especially Puritan Massachusetts. Both of the states are/were theocracies, guided by religion. If you committed any of a list of religious crimes in Massachusetts, such as heresy, you would be burned at the stake, taken to the stocks, or jailed. Likewise, religious crimes are often subjected to brutal punishments. So we could argue that the Middle East's Islamic communities are comparable to Puritan Massachusetss 300 years ago. We committed many similar crimes here.

Your ignorance is a prime example of the exceptionalism in America that is causing so many problems. I'm sorry, but your personal opinion of other religions and cultures should not be a prerequisite for cultural and religious tolerance. You don't have to agree with the faith. You don't have to agree with any faith. But if you believe in and agree with the First Amendment, then you should be respectful and tolerant of other people's beliefs. Period.

Im thinkin its the other way around, we do not have to be respectful and tolerant of other peoples belief's. we have every right to speak out against something we dont like. just because the first amendment gives people the right to follow any faith, doesnt take away our right to be against it.
