To me - Level 1 movies are all about the big park shoot segments they do - with super high energy, you know, the ones you watch over and over again, and have on in the background constantly....

Real Time - Keystone Shoot, Refresh, Mammoth, Turbo - Hood....

So my question is - what's the Eye Trip Park Shoot seggy like??

Last year, everyone banged on about delorme this etc (and his segment was banger, but too short...)... my favorite is by far the endless mammoth segment....

So let me know - im so stoked to see it...

Sun Valley for sure. The jump was huge.

And Dadali's seg was the best one of all time i think. Was even well rounded, not only handrails, BC jumps, couple cliffs. Really really good.

fuck that dude. i do that with movies, but this is the ski industry, they need the support, and the more they get back, the more they will give back with more resources to make an awesome movie

SUN VALLEY. parker whites front flip might have been the highlight jump of the movie. Wallisch throws probably the biggest rodeo ever known, and a flawless dub cork 12 which is probably also the biggest ive seen. i mean it wasnt like hood with every trick known to man being thrown, there was only about 10-15 shots on the jump id say, but its just so massive that it one ups all previous segments.

JF's urban was unreal. He 270s on a handrail that literally wobbled so far left to right that it looked like it was falling over the whole time he was on it.

Understand that Will's sponsors are the reason he doesnt have more time in Level 1 movies. Its not his ability. Ahmet got shots last season for sure and really gets creative in the urban scene, very proud of that kid. Overall impression, great movie and level 1 continues to impress. However, I didnt feel the same spirit and energy as Refresh, which makes sense cause Refresh's cameo of Warren and it being a 10 year movie celebration. Eye Trip was a trip for sure.

Reconsider your question... what would skiing REALLY be like without ski movies? Commonly recognized fact that Warren Miller's films in the 50s played a tremendous role in popularizing skiing with the masses, bringing more people to the sport, and with it, more resorts, more manufacturers making more products, and creating a culture and lifestyle around it.

Ski movies that I watched as a kid inspired me and my love for the sport, and I'm sure more than a few of you have a similar story.

If ski movies ceased to exist, a LOT would change in and about the sport- maybe not overnight, but over the course of a few years things would certainly start to change, and probably for the worse.

Especially in an era where print is playing less and less of a role, ski films are playing a bigger and more prominent role in driving ski culture.

then the only way people will push the sport will be by doing doubles in comps which is sick but it s not the only way.

because of ski movies other kind of skiers get a chance to push the sport.

Well, ski "movies" may become obsolete due to the quickness of putting on stoke for a one day edit. Look at you fucking kids. You're more stoked on Martini riding on a couple of park rails than an entire winter's worth of effort of getting banger shots on urban. Absolutely ridiculous.

That is noteworthy advice, I hear ya.

Also, although I can't make any excuses for a small Will Wesson presence, he does film for the majority of the winter with Traveling Circus. We would all love to see more of him in the movies, but at least his shots pack a mean punch despite lack of quantity.

Exactly..Don't ever underestimate the power of ski films. I know that people will take less stock in them as technology makes it easier and easier to access skiing related news and media as the years go on, but true skiers realize that if they want to see this dope new ski movie, they should buy it from the company that created it in order to support the industry that they, themselves are a part of. Dvds also create a way to bring new people to the sport that may not know about newschoolers or other skiing websites. Propaganda and the Ski Movie trilogy are what brought me into skiing years ago. I bought those movies purely out of curiosity and stoke. Since then I have been supporting Level 1, along with other production companies, every year. I developed a passion for skiing and ski films that will last a lifetime. Sry..long post, but THIS why we still need ski movies in skiing.
