Reconsider your question... what would skiing REALLY be like without ski movies? Commonly recognized fact that Warren Miller's films in the 50s played a tremendous role in popularizing skiing with the masses, bringing more people to the sport, and with it, more resorts, more manufacturers making more products, and creating a culture and lifestyle around it.
Ski movies that I watched as a kid inspired me and my love for the sport, and I'm sure more than a few of you have a similar story.
If ski movies ceased to exist, a LOT would change in and about the sport- maybe not overnight, but over the course of a few years things would certainly start to change, and probably for the worse.
Especially in an era where print is playing less and less of a role, ski films are playing a bigger and more prominent role in driving ski culture.
