my sister did, but she got caught when the landlord stopped by unexpectedly, and if its a big room do it, but don't leave it in a small cramped dorm room.

at our school they aren't allowed to touch anything during room checks. I heard that some people had a dog. The just put it in its crate and covered the crate with a blanket whenever the CA knocked on the door. that said it might be better to go with something like a rabbit that doesn't make noise.
a couple of my friends had a hampster last year which they got away with, but another friend got caught with a frog and had to give it away and got in some trouble. i just stuck with a fish

Don't get a rabbit they poop a lot and smell like poop. You have to clean the cage every day and they still smell. and dorms just were not made for pets I would hate my life if i was a cat in a dorm, because kittens are cute but then they turn into cats don't forget that.

This, it may seem like a good idea but cats can live for 15-17 years. Where are you gonna be in 6 years? Can you afford to pay the vet bills while you are in school? Where would it go when you are on break? My GF and i got a dog 2 years ago and i love him to death but it is an expense and a longterm commitment.

We had a young rabbit in our triple.....We had quite the female traffic through our room for that month. Then it died and we looked like ass holes.

I `guess ist wasnt worth it in the long run lol

yo 2 girls on the floor above me had a kitten, and like sumone above said whenevr sumone knocked on the door it hid under the bed and they had a litter box in their closet which worked out...

kitten mittens FTW so it doesnt scratch on the door

but really don't get a pet that you can't take care of, if no one is going to be in the room for most of the day then don't do it, neglecting animals is just mean and animal shelters are way too full already

we rocked a dog in our room for a coupple of days.... we were on the third floor too.... we just carried him up in a t-shirt.. our CA even walked in and saw him... she didnt care as long he wasnt gonna actually live there (which was our plan)... but it was sweet while it lasted.

I would honestly wait until you can get out of the dorms to get a pet. Dorms are crappy to begin with having a pet is just another liability. Also, kittens grow up to be cats real quick so it will probably want a bigger area than a dorm room to run around in.

I had a pet squirrel in my dorm for the last like 3 months of last semester. As long as you dont tell everyone you know, and only let people you know well in your room, you can do it. We had suite style rooms though so it was a little easier to keep it quiet. corridor style dorms might be tougher.

the cat i used to have was an idiot and whenever we left a lot of food out for her, if we were leaving for a few days, she would eat it all right after we left and then had no food.

i took my Boarder collie to my 6person dorm room. we had two exterior doors. for room checks if the person wasn't there they couldn't enter so she stayed in my room for a few hours at a time in between classes and if they showed up and i wasn't there they wouldn't enter my individually locked room. if they did show up and i was there i would lock myself in my room until they left. my RA was sick as hell too.. went an entire year with my 1year old boarder collie in my room

It would be cool if you could pull it off.  Is your dorm room big enough to be a home for a cat?

The bad thing, is if you get caught, you'll most likely have no one who can take the cat and it will have to go to a shelter :(

i have a beta fish in mine. his name is bucky and i think hes a stoner. 

i wouldnt recommend getting a kitten because, at least at my school, they put down animals they confiscate.

That has to be just a terrible rumor. It can't be the policy that "any pet found in a dorm is killed." what if it's a family pet and the parents are willing to take it back? Furthermore, wouldn't they just take it to a shelter? I don't think RAs are licensed to put down animals.
