When you make your own forum, you can run it the way you like. Harvey puts a lot of time and money in this web site, and if he wants it to be respectful, then that is his right, not yours.
Mike I think that's a good idea, that people should know why their thread got deleted. In many cases, however, they know why it happened. Also sometimes a whole thread gets deleted because of one or two dumb posts, often made by someone other than who started the tread.
