When did having 1 screen print on generic shirts become the basis of starting a clothing company?

It's rad that people are trying and so forth... but a screenprint doesnt justify a clothing company unless it is something very different. Multiple unique screen prints that are distinguishable and have a unique idea, that can be the start of a company.
