So life has been treating me fairly poorly recently; been threatened with being thrown off my university course over a failed math module, been feeling very lonely, fallen out with my parents, and just broken up with my gf as I have just found out she was cheating on me. Life seemed to suck.
So I went outside tonight to have a walk to think things over, now I live in quite an isolated area, so as I looked up and saw the stars in the clear sky, I was taken aback by how many I could see. So I grabbed my jacket and laid down on the grass and looked at them twinkling brightly and I soon realised that myself and my problems are so small in the grand scale of the whole wide universe. It was very humbling and really chilled me out, and I no longer feel stressed about my problems. I sometimes think that if everyone had a regular opportunity to look at the stars and were affected by them in the same way that they affected me tonight the world will be a better place. The time is now midnight where I live and I was gazing at the stars for a good 2 hours, the more you look the more you see!
It's filled me with a new zest for life, and my suggestion for those of you who are feeling stressed, down, fed-up etc. is go and star-gaze - it just puts everything back in perspective!
Good night ns!
