NS. Need help on deciding on colleges

I need help deciding which college to go to. I am a senior in highschool this year and I need to start thinking. Here are the 2 i'm debating about. CU Bolder of U of Minnesota? I live about 45 minutes from the U of M, and my girlfriend goes there, but Bolder has a much better Aerospace Engineering program, and much better parties, to say the least. I need your help NS!

Boulder's Aerospace program is pretty banger from what I hear. Our engineering school is one of the better state programs in the nation, and aerospace is the best one they offer I think. They are always getting tons of funding from nasa and whatnot. I go to CU, I dig it, but there are def. things I don't like, but no one else seems to mind them ha

Just from what I've heard I would say go to CU because it has a better program which in the future may lead to you getting a better job. I would think your girlfriend would understand. However, I am not you and don't know everything about your circumstance. Good luck with everything! :)

im pretty sure GFs come and go. but ur going to collage, so go for the better education and jams. finding a new place to live (if thats what ull do) is also a new experience. so bro get the education.

I'm at CU now, honestly best decision ever. You have to be really persistent with your work though, it's only the second week and people are falling behind because there's so much shit to do. If you're outdoorsy at all Boulder is the place to be 100%.

i wouldn't go into aero space, kennedy space station is massively down sizing... boulder is a better schools and a better time hands down.

Go to CU. DO NOT go where your girlfriend is going. I've heard way to many stories about people doing that, only to break up and regret their college decision later.

I know I'm a noob on here, but I'd definitely pick CU. There's nothing better than completely taking yourself out of your element at a young age and experiencing new things. If Minnesota is that close to home I'm assuming a lot of your friends are going there? College is an opportunity to completely experience something new, and that's what I'd recommend. Not to be harsh, but you're too young to make a major life decision like that based on a girl. I'm from Pennsylvania and go to UConn. I love seeing my friends from high school on breaks, but I'm glad I didn't just go to a PA state school to keep the same friends in college that I had in high school.

it sounds like instead of advice, you need a pretty serious wake up call.

if you're a senior in high school and just now realize that you need to "start thinking" about college, and then mention aerospace engineering -- perhaps you should consider a new choice of major. those two don't really match up.

that being said, this is definitely a conversation you should be having with your guidance counselor, not newschoolers.com, where only about 25% have attended a university whose diplomas are worth more than toilet paper i wipe my ass with.

NOW. if you're still looking for an answer, i recommend sierra nevada college, not because of its noteworthy academics (sarcasm), but because of its proximity to the best skiing ever, and your parents' ability to pay for it! hoo-rah!

And where do the engineers from NASA go?

There have been limited jobs in aerospace since computers were invented.

Every single aerospace engineer I know is either out of work, working on their doctorate, or in a different field.

Get a mechanical degree and minor in aerospace if you must but unless you are planning on being top of your class and have some industry connections I would stay away from straight up aerospace.

this is true, its a high school relationship.

if you really want to be with her. rough it out. i've gone to SAIT, its in calgary, and my girlfriend is a vagabond, travelling from here and there for work, she's down near nelson now, then she'll head to yukon or ontartio, then ontario, then i'll be done my first year.
rough it out, if you really care. it can be done. it'll just be a long time while you're in school and there's all these honey's around. trust me, its been a long 2 days. haha.


look into a school that has the highest success rate of your trade. then go there..

education is more valuable than relationships unfortuntely. if she can't respect what's right for your future, then she's not really worth it. if the relationship is meant to be, it'll be strong enough to last. i never picked schools based on socializing and it's always turned out best for me.

I can't offer much advice on colleges out west, but honestly don't base your entire future on one girl.

also, check into Colorado College if you haven't already. I've heard amazing things about that place, wish I could go there myself.

do you really need help here. the only reason you want UM is cause its close to home and your girlfriend is there. Dump your girl, man up and leave home, you will be better off.
