Recommend me a skate shoe. i've gone through a pair of etinies, lakia's, and elements all this summer and am wanting something a little more durable.
i wear a 11.5 or 12, so if you would post up some links of suggestions in that size i would appreciate it.
oh and i don't want to spend more than $70. :-)

I had a pair of dvs that lasted me two weeks. AVOID DVS AT ALL COSTS!

the best shoe to skate is without a doubt vans. They have the best board feel and waffle grip rocks, but some do suffer from a lack of durability

Don't buy dunks, they're not durable and are shit to skate cause theyre a basketball shoe and therefore have more arch in the toe than you want from a skate shoe. This provides poor feedback. Plus i doubt you can find an sb shoe for less than 70 bucks.

The most durable skate shoe's you'll ever find are savier brian andersons, unfortunately they aren't made anymore but if you ever find a pair in your size lying around at a local shop pickem up you won't be disappointed.

Best bet, probably a vans half cab is your best bet for a mid high shoe, good durability and great feel.

In general, i prefer vulcanized to cupsole for things like board feel, and look in general. The reynolds 3 is vulc, but its actually got really solid heel protection and holds up like a cupsole. best shoe i have ever skated.

I'm going to recommend Vans Half Cabs. I got 4 pairs for $100 online. Just wait around until they're on sale. They're not the most durable shoe in the world but for $25 a pop I won't complain.

I skate habitats, they are pretty durable. my bro has reynolds 3's and loves em. but for the love of God do not get DVS. Not only are they made horribly, the ones I had had some shitty sole that was raised for some reason, so whenever you slightly landed weird, your ankle rolled. It was a bad deal

Nike sb all day..so comfy look clean as fuck. decent durability. skate real good. only draw back is they are kindof expensive for just skating use. i prefer ether lows or highs. mids are just weird

nike sb tre's. they are durable as fuck, comfortable as fuck, and look sick.

i've skated one pair for almost a year now and still havent had any issues.

Nike SB Mid Dunks. Lasted me for so long. Super durable and can withstand the rain and all.

Also very comfy. By the way I wear a 14 and they had em in that size so they most certainly should have a 12.

holy shit I lol'd at so many responses, Nike 6.0s = trash....

as far as durable skate shoes go the most durable I've seen my friends skate in are the Janoskis (I've never had a pair)

I skate the least durable skate shoe in the world but I love them so much:

Nike Stefan Janoskis. I've had a pair for exactly a year. I longboard a lot, and my right heel is just starting to wear away now. Definitely a super durable shoe.

hm i beg to differ. i bomb several hills daily. you have to put your foot down to slow down and stop. I'm constantly blowing the heels out on my shoes. before i got my janoskis i was going through a pair a month. maybe longboarding isn't as much technical skill but it definitely takes some balls to bomb a concrete hill. think before you post.

Ahhhh the skate shoe.

Well, you have gone through 3 pretty big distributers. But with out knowing which shoes you had, it is hard to say.

You have a whole in your two from ollies and such. You need to make sure that you are then buying a full grain leather with a reinforced toe. Sued tends to hook on the grip tape even more and therefor tear faster. Synthetic does sometimes last longer, but you don't really feel the board as well through synthetic. If you aren't concerned, maybe a reinforced rubber synthetic is your way to go.

In regards to the rest of the construction, most companies are going to be about the same. There isn't really any great technology that has happened. The only thing is that the glue starts sucking. In this case, it could happen to any shoe really. That is when you buy a tube of shoe glue. If it starts happening with in a week or two, then you should certainly be able to warranty the shoe.

So what you need is a shoe with a giant heel on it. Get a pair of nice leather work boots and start giving people useable advice. Saying a shoe is good because the heel doesn't blow out has no application to someone who does real skateboarding

I have adidas cieros, I haven't been able to skate them because of injury, but I have longboarded with them and they feel nice. The sole is very grippy too and they're so light. Square ones are okay, they gave me a blister sometimes but they held up for quite a while. They have little shock absorption compared to other shoes I've skated.

Corey Duffel Pro model Osiris'. Not much shoe - they are very thin and not bulky, but you get great board feel.
