So, i'm thinking of getting a pair of blades to use to move around the city. Is there a forum for these things? I

Or does anybody have some info? I know this is like admitting to snowblading or taking it in the ass but any help would be appreciated.

I just want to have some idea of what I should be looking for before I go into a store and spend way way too much money.

do get aggressive skates. with plain rollerblades u will look gay and with aggressives u can learn some grinds in ur free time. i have oringinal remz os skates but seeing as those are impossible to find anymore i like my friends razor genesys skates and rollerwarehouse.com is good

Theres these pretty cool things called subways, or buses, or bikes. Blading wouldnt be one of my top choices for freeriding around a city. I would use them to grind every single ledge in the city but, theres definitely other options for transport.

they blow for trying to get somewhere... i would rather walk to be honest.. i would recommend getting your inner bro on and getting a longboard... or a bike... if you want them to also hit up some ledges and handrails thats a different story

yeah well I take the subways and busses every day. Right now i'm just trying to get out side. Not a big biking fan.


What i'm looking for are some skates that I can use to skate around the city which is all shitty pavement and broken sidewalks. so something with some sort of shock absorption also being able to grind the occasional ledge and hop the occasional staircase would be good too. Oh yeah, and having them not look super gay would be a plus.

if you're trying to get around you want those. I'm a full time rollerblader (my favorite sport, and the one I'm best at) and I just got a longboard to ride around campus. Taking skates on and off (especially carbons) takes too long. Plus there's lots of cobblestone and it's annoying.

Annoying to put on then take off repeatedly. It's stupid unless you want to get into grinds/park. And they are more expensive.

just get a longboard. You can't go into any place with a pair of skates so you'd need to bring a pair of shoes with you at all times and a longboard is much more fun to use than skates if your using it for transportation.

agreed. longboarding is a lot more convenient and a lot more fun (in my opinion). Skateboarding is slower but even more fun than longboarding because there are a bunch more tricks and stuff. also, inb4 longboarding vs. skateboarding argument
