The audition videos don't truly represent how good the finalist skiers are. If you haven't already, watch some of last years edits from one hit wonder and you will see why they have been chosen. especially Johnny Lipzker who has crazy crazy style. dubs aren't a guage of style

I see your point, but then why have auditions? I agree with you, dubs aren't a gauge of style but if someone can do a dub 10, they're obviously gonna be able to throw down a cork 5 blunt for style. I just thought it was a little unfair, that's all

Some of the people not chosen have a dope style too. I mean Brian Kish was spinning stylish blunt 9s or 10s both ways. Plus even a backseat dub cork 14 is so much better than a dub front. There's random kids on here that can throw a dub front, not that it isn't still dope, but I don't know of many that have ever even gotten the rotation of a dub cork 14.

Yo Joss actually was invited and was unable to make it because he is recovering from a small knee surgery. They only invited two riders from america. I know because after joss told them he couldnt go they invited me as the american runner up. I can't make it either but between bobby and mcrae it will be a good showing for america. What they must have understood is that is is a logistical nightmare to get a plane ticket to australia within 10-15 days and it would make more sense to invite mostly australians.

After watching all those in a row I now hear "One Hit Wonduh, Down Unduh" in my head :)

Even that it already been explained in the thread, it's an australian event. And seeing as there isn't that many high profile comps in australia, they probably wanna give as many australian skiers as possible the chance to be in one, and not take away from the original comp by inviting loads of foreign pro's. It's a sick concept and hopefully it grows bigger in the future, good luck for everyone involved!

Ps. Joss, your sw dub is flawless .ds

All of the videos from the kids that made it are from last years event.  Shouldn't it be something new that they have done since last year?

I just got off the phone with Tim the event creator and he informed me that a few of the American guys were invited but couldn't make it. As everyone has said its an Aussie event so obviously some Australians have to be in there, myself being one of them. Super sick to see Bobby and McRae make it out, i'm counting down the days. However I do get where everyone is coming from.....Would be epic to see a few others come out for it.

i wish i had an austrailian accent... also, it would seem the judges should get their ducks in a row, cause those skiers that didnt make it threw down much harder than the others. however, i also dont know how this comp is judged, therefore my opinion is invalid.

gday guys, thought id throw in my two cents...

joss was invited out but had to decline cause of injury.
tosh was invited out but had to decline cause of the high cost of travel.
we wanted logan to come out cause his audition vid was off the hook, but at the last minute we realised our insurance didn't cover under 18s from overseas.
kish's trick was insane, though not sure if it was the poor quality of the vid but it kinda looked like he didn't land it.
mcrae of course was invited out - first he was stoked and coming, but then realised his passport had expired so he was sad and staying home, but then then he sacked up and got a new passport so now he is coming again and we are all happy.

honestly, i didn't think we'd have such a huge response from international riders as we did. i know how expensive it is for an american or canadian to fly out here. i'm stoked on it and definetely wanted to help the invited guys make it out... but, somewhat due to my tight timing scheduele, it became logistically very difficult for some internationals to drop what they were doing and organise travel all the way out here at such short notice. i am certainly now very aware of it, and i'll reshuffle the time frame in 2011 to make it easier for all you frothers :)

Well from this response I'm assuming you ski above and beyond the mediocre level of double fronts and backs....I'm glad your not coming, Bobby and McRae now have a fighting chance.
