not really the fault of the landlord in every way. in the housing crunch, banks are cashing in on their loans. typically, rental properties pay for the monthly mortgage installments, so i doubt it was fully due to his complete inability to pay... and more of the bank wanting to seize the property to just make some money off of hopefully selling it.

no. a bank cant  decide to just call in your loan and sieze the property if youre current on the mortgage.  its 100% the landlords fault if the property in in foreclosure. it means he wast making his payments on the loan.

Correct.

At one point the landlord told us our monthly rent wasn't covering her mortgage, but we were in a lease so she couldn't really up our rent. She got behind on her shit, and they took it.
And Cash For Keys, a new government program, gives you money to move out quickly. It's tight, because there's no way in hell we were gonna get our security deposit back.
