Season pass advice

hi there, i'm a rook on the utah scene, and trying to decide where to get a pass/passes to.

i like to ski pow/cliffs/chutes/trees a lot. i like to shred park as well, but not as much. having a solid park would is crucial as well though.

at first i was thinking of getting a pass to PC and a pass to bird. it would be like 950 total. i do hear that bird gets tracked quickly though.

my other option is just a brighton pass. it would be like 450, and from what i hear, it's a blast on a pow day, less crowded/tracked, and still has a pretty fun park. and night skiing as well.

i'm also considering canyons. i've shredded park there and loved it, but i don't know what it would be like on a pow day. i guess it's a huge mountain, so that's solid.



anyhow, do some people with more insight than me on the UT shred scene wanna advise me here? thanks guys

even though I lovedd last years canyons park i would maybe go for brighton, I went up there in a crazy snow day and it made me think twice about skiing park city, soo amazingg. I haven't skied park at brighton much besides pre and post season but i really didn't think it was as good as canyons (dont take my word i went for opening week)

Here's what you can do to get best of both worlds.

Take class at U for Alta pass: 100 dollars
Park City pass: 450 or something dollars

You can get both for super cheap because of the class through the University.

word on the street is that the class for the alta pass is kindof a pain in the ass.

plus, i have buddies who snowboard, and i'd rather not bail on them

Park City- A bullshit mountain that you shouldn't waste your time with unless your skiing park, which is a waste of time anyway. You're in Utah do some fucking skiing.

The Canyons- Best mix between park and terrain. While the mountain may be huge a very large portion of the terrain is not very good, what is good gets old quick. Like other Park City resorts the canyons doesn't get the snow the cottonwoods gets. Also, very few inbounds cliffs at the Canyons, So unless you plan on going into the slackcountry(which is actually pretty decent) don't plan on hitting many cliffs.

Brighton- Decent park, nothing spectacular. Very good terrain and lots of snow. But if you don't plan on venturing in to the backcountry you'll get sick of the resort before the end of the year because it's so damn small.

Alta, Snowbird- Both good choices with killer terrain and great snow. What more could you ask for. You're in Utah don't waste your time in the park.

^park is not a waste of time, and that bull shit mountain is the only one to have a super sick park open till 9pm. That alone almost makes me want to go there.

What the fuck do you mean don't waste your time in the park in Utah. We have one of the top parks in the nation retard. Only a fucking idiot would fail to capitalize on that. Maybe you and Tanner Hall can get together and ski some REAL MOUNTAINS WITH REAL SNOW AND REAL CLIFFS

just go to brighton.. theres a bunch of assholes at PC and Brighton is super chill, has great bc and sc and still a pretty decent park

if you can afford the pc/bird combo do it for sure. even if you prefer mountain skiing it is clutch to have a good park for when there isnt any fresh snow. skiing alta a week after a storm is about as fun as hot yoga.
