I showed up the premier for the 9pm showing and wow they drew a huge crowd, comparable to any TGR or PBP that comes to town, if not bigger. They had some great DJ'ing, pre-show music and tons and tons and tons of give aways! Over all the crowd and the venue had me super amped and ready to watch some skiing.
The Movie:
Many of you may be wondering how the movie turned out. Over all I was very impressed. The quality of filming was on par with what you saw in the trailer for the movie. The film crew did a great job with the budget the were working with and got shots, angles, and aerial views that are matched with something you might see in a level 1 or PBP movie.
Being the local movie that it was your not going to see any switch triple rodeo 12's or dub cork 10's being stomped like the pros do but these riders took a lot of risk and were throwing down some really huge jumps and pushing their limits. It was awesome to see the creativity and effort these guys put in to make some of the segments.
A large portion of the movie was urban located in/around Bozeman and neighboring cities. This was mixed in a with a good variety of resort and back country kickers. The movie continually progressed and the shots kept getting better and better as the movie went on. In the end I was super stoked on being in Montana, watching this premier with the riders/filmers themselves and skiing as a whole.
I want to thank every one who worked with Toy Soldier Productions to make my trip out from Portland totally worth it. The vibe, the movie were pure awesome. You guys put a lot on the line to make this happen... So congratulations on a job well done. I cant wait for my copy on bluray to show up in the mail.
