I'm 5"10 and 138 lbs i'm looking for a ski that will be used for mostly soft skis and cliffs but I want it to survive on the way back to the lift i'm looking for more of a ski between 105-115 in the waist i have experience in big mountain and ski aggressively.
Armada jj or rossi s7. The s7 has good deal more agressive rocker and is softer, which means it tends to be a pure pow ski, but at ur weight it would be really fun everywhere. The jj is imo the best all-mtn pow ski around, a tinge stiffer and handles heavy snow and chop w/ less deflection. I ski the jj everyday and wouldn't trade it for anything. Both are super buttery and a ton of fun, u couldn't go wrong w/ either
And its a first round knockout, left hook to the jaw w/ 4:53 left in the first round. The winner by knockout and still pow ski champion of the world........the Armadaaaaaaaa Jjayyyyy
volkl katana, they are 111 underfoot and i got a buddy that has them and he can ski anything on them, myself i got chopsticks and they are one of the best skis i have ever rode. overall anything volkl you can go wrong with.
I rode them too (and ended up buying them). Great all-around skis and I bet they're awesome in powder too. Sadly I didn't get the chance to try them in deep snow.
The jj feels like a fat 150 carving ski on groomed, super stable at speed, poppy and fun in any other snow condition. The rocker was done right, doesn't get deflected in chop, doesn't get hooky in pow. Just a great everyday pow ski.
ARG's are the best POW tree ski. they turn on a dime and float like nothing else. However they are very slow on groomers.
I had a pair of ARGs and then I got a pair of JJs. I was going to keep the ARGs for the deeeeep days but the JJs worked so good in the deep pow too that I sold the ARGs. It simplfied my quiver down to a 2 ski quiver (park ski Fujas and Pow/everything else ski the JJ)
