Do you know how immensely enormous the universe is? Do you know how many hundreds of billions of galaxies there are? How many solar systems there are? The odds are not against us at all. Over an incredibly long time period and over a hundred billion galaxies it makes perfect sense that it would happen. Honestly, you should reevaluate your username.

this is an awsomley solid post. Its these kind of facts in the bible that actually correspond with science that scare me. Because sometimes science and the bible play hand in hand in earths history. and other times, they are on to opposite ends of the spectrum.

a lot of the explanations on those things are basically saying, read between the lines. and i remember they found the ark a while ago, and it was a hoax, and now coincidently, the ark they found recently, of course was found by evangelist christians.

blablabla, its because religion is the "gold standard" nowadays. believing in god is nothing you have to justify most of the times, it only shows how GREAT a person you are.

this is complete bullshit. we had this youth ceremony in our town yesterday where you get "initiated" into the society, and OF COURSE there was a mandatory holy mass infront of it. and the priest had to tell us how most of us werent here for a few years, blablbalbla, and "what we do for JESUS"?? complete bullshit, i hate how christianity puts the love towards god over the love towards your nexts. i live a good life, dont hurt people and try to help others when i can, but apparently i am a bad person because i do nothing for JESUS, a carpenter who died somewhere ive never been to 2000 years ago????

Nothing is wrong with that.

To nonreligious people, I pose a question. If I live my life with excellent morals: am always kind to other people, care for my family, give back to the community, donate my time/money/etc to help other humans who are in unfortunate situations, and try to help mankind for the short time I am alive, and I believe in God, what is wrong with that?

Why must people (religious and nonreligious) always get into debates about who is right and try to prove to the other that they are wrong? If your beliefs work for you that is great, but don't try to force them on other people.

Because you're systematically upholding and giving validation to a system that has used good members of its church to gain political influence in the most negative of ways. You yourself would earn my respect, but unless you also denounce the church, you are still a -1 in my book.

circumcision was mandated in the old testament because it would make circumcised males less prone to infection. in the old testament there are also animals that are mandated not to be eaten because they are not "clean" and would have been dangerous to eat at that time, but that is then reversed in the new testament.

and to your last statement, i 100% disagree.

when asked what the most important laws were, jesus responded "love god with your all," (not exactly quoted but basically the same), then "love your neighbor as you love yourself." and that INCLUDED people who weren't jews. "as you love yourself," jesus basically is saying that people are equal, your no better than your neighbor. so all this shit that gets thrown at atheists, all this scorn christians give out, well that directly goes against the teachings of jesus. "let he who is without sin cast the first stones."

i know that theres a very vocal group of religious people who make religion seem like shit, but they represent hypocrisy, not religion in general.
