If First Drop made skis.....

- what kind of skis would you want them to be- park? pow?
- what length would you prefer- 175ish? 185ish?
- what would you call them?
- what would the graphic look like?

Fuck you guys are ambitious, good shit. Outerwear, shoes, and possibly skis now? Mad respect for working so hard guys. If you could put out a park ski in the 183-186 range I know myself as well as a bunch of other tall dudes don't have much choice as far as longer skis go and you guys could almost get a monopoly on that. As far as pow skis go I don't have too much info, but if you guys could make a park ski I'd consider. Don't worry about all the hate, ski companys are making outerwear (ex. Armada) now, so why shouldn't you guys make skis? Good luck.

park ski around 90mm waist with slight tip and tail rocker
maybe a pow ski around 115mm waist, rocker, flat camber under foot

175cm would be good. If you only planned to make one size, anything bigger would be too big, for me anyways.
I think a pow ski would be sick, with a giant sidecut radius.
For graphics, I have always thought something with a crown would be sick.

i support FD but their 09/10 stuff was mediocre, customer service was awesome though, sent my stuff in for repairs and it was repaired by a tailor, and they even repaired and reinfored the cuffs for me, even though that wasnt why i sent it in.

It would be so sick if you made one park ski and one pow ski.

Pow ski with the normal pow rocker and wide underfoot.
Park ski with the early rise/ park rocker and 100% symmetrical ski.

Graphics would be sick anyways!

dude, it was first drops first year, cut them a Lesh and co. a little bit of slack. Now I'm not saying that's an excuse to put out sub par outerwear, but rarely does somebody do something perfectly first try. Everything gets developed and tweaked over time. Businesses constantly learn from their mistakes to try to improve their products. It's just what happens.

But it's good to see you are happy with the repair service they provided you.

I'm stoked on FD, just not the quality of their first run, i completely understand that it was their first year, so obviously there was flaws. Im not getting FD this year though, not because im worried about quality, im sure its a lot better now, but i hate the new design/colorways. I will probably FD Base layers or shoes(if they make them in size 14)or something else though.

no clue for design just some kind of sick first drop mark underneath definantly
no clue for name, but i certainly think that first drop could make a pair of skis that could make any park / pow skiier super stoked, keep it up First Drop! :D

please don't make skis,or anything but outerwear untill you figure your outerwear game out, and make quality stuff, not mass produced garbage that i've seen in the past. cough cough... last year.

if you know there are flaws in the product or if you dont think its the best possible out there you shouldnt put it out. period. plus the fact that they are coming on here asking for opinions on a ski which is going to represent a company so early on is pretty wack. if you know your customer well enough you shouldnt need to be making threads asking for opinions. OR have design our next custom tall tee competitions. your a company with paid employees, make them earn the paycheck.

yet NS is the target market for them, money rules everything, plus all the team members already have ski sponsors which are all established in the industry, so I doubt any of them would just drop them for more FD, unless FD manages to find some very very wealthy investors who can pony up some large pay checks

make em longer like 180 or something, park/street jibbing skis, solid build designed to take a pounding from rails, wall rides, big urban drops. graphics should be subtle, stealth style. true center mount and symetrical.

I think there should be a solid park ski, and a solid pow ski and call them second drop and third drop respectively.

Skis matching outerwear, this is an awesome/gay idea, mainly awesome....

I'd buy about 176 if I had the choice.

you clearly didn't read the title carefully, why should they not try if they are willing to take the risk the ending product could be sick. Armada started making skis and now make sick outerwear, why cant the transition be made from the other side.

my only suggestion for graphics is to try and do a clean, simple design. all the companies graphics are getting really complex and confusing.

and for sizes, why not do 160, 170, 180? a bit for everybody, and make a complete park ski, and full-on powder ski, and another ski that is in between

YES. . . to go along with everyone else make large models. Both park and pow. make 180, 185, 190, even a 195 maybe????????? (im 6 ft 4 so a pow ski thats my style is really hard to come across.)
