So last year i started progressing some, on my tricks off of jumps but i kept noticing that i was prespinning the jumps pretty badly. do you guys have any pointers for when i should pop and spin? Thanks.
Ok so spin more with my core and less with my arms and then pop about when the edge of the jump reaches the tip of my bindings? i think i may be popping to early. thanks again.
Practice on a trampoline by jumping then spinning on your way down like it helps. Then when you hit jumps carve of the lips don't spin. You'll see it. Also try to spin slower if you keep prespinning and drag it out so then its not as bad.
yah once youre tips leave the kicker is when you should pop, then spin, not spin and pop at the same time because most likely youll end up spinning before youre in the air
yeah, as your boots make it to the lip, slowly but strongly spin with your whole core. if youre only doing a 3 you dont need to wind up or anything, and doing so will most likely make it harder than it needs to be. spinning early will fuck with you too
When you pop, exhale deliberately like you were bench pressing. Sounds goofy but it works.
Usually when you prespin you also throw a slight panic wedge or snow blow and jump more off the foot that's opposite of your spin direction. Think about popping off of both feet and a smooth exhale will help you to get a smooth pop.
I used to do the same thing. Just focus on the pop off the lip and setting the rotation after you leave. Spinning is all about being comfortable and there is no secret way to do them. Its just lots and lots of practice. Just make sure to pop before you spin.
