It really fucks me off when the government tries to prevent people dying on the roads. They should not show people getting hurt. Instead, they should have bunnies and kittens singing songs.

Seriously?

1. It's not propaganda. It's public service broadcasting to prevent death

2. RTAs fucking suck. The worst day of my life was when I had to go and identify my friend's body after he'd been killed in a car crash, and his parents were too distraught to do it. If they showed people what I had to see, trust me, you'd NEVER, EVER even fucking think about driving while distracted or intoxicated ever again. This is NOT too far.

The stupid thing is, they don't show these commercials in the United States, there is a company called TAC Victoria that makes these ads. Even though after these commercials have been released driving accidents have gone down tremendously, they still don't show them here, how dumb.

There are alto of sad videos in this but the fact that they put a top gear clip in there to say drive safe? really?

Like if somebody had a friend that drown, calling on everyone to stop swimming.

People drive like assholes these days, instead of wasting money on stupid ad council shit like they have been... How about they make driving tests you have to take every year. go after people for reckless driving more than speeding. I'm sick of all these stupid ad's, videos, and commercials trying to change the way people live with bullshit. I don't want to see a builborad sponsored by tax dollars that says, "say hi to your kid and be nice". Or "don't let your job get you down, it's alright"


It just doesn't do anything. Such a waste

^^seriously, some people need to be confronted with reality, car crash victims especially pedestrians are horrible to see....

I still remember seeing a woman get hit by an suv doing like 70mph, her body flew at least 30ft and her legs remained at the point of impact...

nastiest thing i've ever seen...
i later heard the lady survived after being in a week long coma, but she was paralized from her chest down ....

It would be better also if it wasn't so easy to get out of tickets... go to court, traffic school and other options. So many ways to just easily get rid of it that there is almost little or no consequences for stuff like that. Except for the damage you may do to someone else.

I think its a combination of both. All the ones with cammed inside the car are obviously fake, all the traffic cams and such are real i believe.

just watching this video doesn't desensitize you. if it doesn't provoke some sort of response from you, it means you've already been desensitized.

video definitely makes you think twice though. Whenever i'm driving i try to make sure that the people around me are safe at all times. And personally i always make an effort to assure that should i be the cause of an accident, that i bear the brunt of it. If i have any ability to control whatsoever, i would rather veer off and guarantee that i steer clear or other people, even if it means getting myself killed. I just don't think i could live with myself knowing that i killed innocent people as a result of my own recklessness. But fortunately, i tend to drive safely, and nothing like this has ever come up.

drive safe kids! It's worth it.

the fake ones: absolutely ridiculous and poorly made

the real ones: terrifying. a lot of those accidents could have been a 2 second lapse in concentration that led to someones death. see 6:28

its a shame they have to dilute their message with this overacted crap. the real thing will always have a stronger impact.

Yeah you're right. They've been doing this shit for a long time and it's obviously had such an amazing effect on peoples driving.

The target group. AKA the idiot douche bag drivers. This isn't going to do anything for them, they probably won't even watch it. They will continue driving like assholes. Sorry but this isn't exactly the best method to prevent stupid drivers on the road.

Yeah of course. I obviously have never rolled upon the scene of a fucked up car wreck. Last summer coming back from a show I didn't see a light in a parking area I thought was strange, turn around to see what was up, and find a car upside down between two trees. The people in the car weren't my friends and actually my ride to the show that I missed by 4 minutes. I didn't have to call 911 and wait for an ambulance well telling my friends that there was help coming while they were bleeding all over themselves.

I've seen some fucked up shit. I just don't think these videos do shit. The people who really need to drive safely don't give a fuck until something bad happens to them. I completely agree that people need to drive safer and learn not to be an asshole on the roads. I'm actually one of the safest drivers you could ride with. I just don't think this method has worked.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this video even though a repost will do something for the kids on ns who just got their license. Me I drove super safely always worried about accidents and trying to avoid them. Most people that age just bomb around until they run into something and then still don't learn their lesson.

Idk, I still really believe these things aren't effective. Sadly most people won't learn a damn thing until they drift off the side of a cliff and get caught up in some trees.

yeah i live in victoria and a new one of these ads comes out every week from the TAC, this is pretty much a collection of tons of them (staged but of real life situations)and some cameras that happened to catch some real accidents. how often do you guys see these on TV? here's the TAC youtube channel just so you can see how serious they are.
