Here's the deal
my friend and i wanna go to eminem & jay-z in comerica park thursday night
ticket prices are outrageous right now and he doesn't wanna pay more then 100 dollars for a field level ticket (we only want field level or first level seating basically)
i made a thread about this awhile ago and someone said if you wait till last minute, the ticket prices could get really low
has this ever happened to anyone?

word, thanks. it'd be a 4 and a half hour drive tho so i couldn't risk going to a scalper, unless you're talking about an online scalper essentially

if it's not sold out, hit all the ticket reselling websites, as tickets should be dropping every day till the show if its coming soon, if its sold out, then tickets only climb higher

The problem with a show like this is a size of the demand. Even the day of tickets might be cheaper in the lot but the demand will still be high enough to keep them from going down much, unless there are that many extra tickets.
Sometimes venues re release tickets the week of the show, it happens quite a bit, not sure what the deal is with these shows.
Luckily for me, with the phish community, you can always find a phan willing to sell them for face value. And the people refuse to buy from scalpers. In albany last fall I bought tickets for 20 bucks. 1/3 of face value. Dude had a huge stack of tickets that he had tried to scalp[ and was losing out hard. I talked to him for a little bit, he was saying he had made bank on bruce springstien tour and other shows. Because the demographic for those shows are people who have money and are only going to one show. 120 bucks a ticket isn't a problem.
Hope you find a ticket at a fair price my friend. The internet has made ticketing pretty fucked up.

This is what bob dylan decided to try. No tickets were released in advance. Had to show up to the venue with the ticket price in cash. No credit cards, cash only, no internet or advance box office sales. Only cash the day of starting like 4 hours before the show.
I thought it was cool to see a legend like that trying to find ways around the bullshit that is ticketing these days. sites like ticketbastard/livenation monopoly. Releasing tickets to stub hub type sites before they even go on sale. Craigslist scalping and all kinds of shit.
Really best of luck man.

I was so stoked when I saw about that. I went to his show a few days before in Park City and I would of gladly paid cash only at the venue. Good luck on getting tickets though.
