Why doesn't Sweet Protection sell to the US?

Perhaps it´s because their outerwear is too expensive for the regular american.

They go to some stores in the US and approve of them to sell their merchandise. However, the only store I've been to that has that approval was during the summer and all they sold was water sport type mech, so I cant vouch for outerwear or snow helmets.

I honestly doubt there is that much of a difference, it's a jacket not a car. Yeah the quality of material may be higher for Sweet Protection but they are still jackets.

they are in totally different leagues, sweet protection has a gore tex pro shell membrane, saga does have 3L fabric this year but I doubt it is much better than standard goretex from many years ago. Gore tex has been making this stuff for many, many years and there is no way in hell that the saga suit is anywhere near as tech as sweet protection. Saga has so many seams, changes in color, etc. All of those are potential weak points for water to get in, sure they can seam tape them, but why have more than necessary? Simple= better when it comes to outerwear.

If you are skiing in the midwest on a spring day, sure it doesn't matter, you could be in a t shirt, but if its dumping hard wet shit, you'd notice a difference. (especially when comparing it to 2L technology, time will tell how saga's 3L outerwear is)

There really aren't many company's making Gore tex pro shell or event shells that have a baggy, freestyle fit, we need more of them IMO. Some people like having that extra layer of protection, and are willing to pay for it.

I went to the only store i know around my house (i live in norway) that has any sweet protection stuff in stock atm, and just their one piece costs over 1000 usd. Most of you guys wont spend that much on outerwear.

Wait, 90 % of ns are under 15 and get their shit for free from their parents, who am i kidding....

Being a European company, they operate on a different wholesale/retail price structure and they really don't have a good sales program for the US market. For example, if a shop ever offered customers the slightest discount, the shop would lose out (my old shop looked into carrying them a few years ago along with their helmets).

Hopefully they can become competitive with pricing for the US market because their stuff is totally killer.

That's actually surprising, they didn't used to let you do that. Sweet used to be very strict about separating their water sports shops from winter sports...

Their prices vary from at least 300 USD for the cheapest(!) jackets to 600 or up to 800 USD for the more expensive ones. Not even to mention their one-pieces that easily top 1000 USD..

im 15 and i buy my own stuff. the only thing im not buying is my jacket.
anyways, its becuase a jacket costs like $500, and pants cost like $400. but if they were to sell it in canada and it was about $500 for a full suit i would buy it.
