Ski bummin for a year?

I went to class, earning my masters in which ill make roughly 10x what a ski bum will be lucky to get. I ski bummed in summit co and whistler for the last 2 years.

Id rather take 20 days a year and have a higher quality life when im older, than skiing 125+ making 9 bux n hour. Vail resorts killed any aspiration i had while i was ski bumming. Getting fired as a ski school supervisor because my roommate (one of the people on my team) was caught with drugs at work.

Skiing is sick, but with economic times the way they are, living on sub 20bux n hour isnt practical.

my advice (im a little older - 27) is at least have an idea of what you want to do later. if you want to do something involved with skiing by all means do it you will probably get your foot in the door of the ski industry.  read one quote that sounded like a good idea. go somewhere that has a good summer program if youre at least considering getting some sort of education and limit your fall and winter credits.

shit in my case im thinking about taking what i have saved in my 401k and just bouncing somewhere and doing the bum thing and eventually finding something i like in a place i want to be.

 I don't think this is the typical answer that your going to get here but my advice is don't do it. College is fun but when you get older it gets to be less fun and more business.  Second, having a job that you actually like going to everyday and a big paycheck that lets you live very comfortably is even better.  And you can still get 30+ days in a year.

true true, but I would go to college the next year, not like i would just never go.

if you decide to bum around first, make sure you have a legitimate plan for college, so you eventually get there. don't fuck that up
