Canadianskibum, I thankyou for trying, and not to be a dick, I honestly was looking for something more than that. Some people have faith, and that is not a bad thing, but I need more than faith. I believe that virtually all things can be explained if enough is known about them. The trouble is finding out everything that you need to know.
As far as evolution goes, Im not neccassarily sure if you fully understand what evolution means, or if you just have a different way of interpreting it. Evolution take centuries upon centuries. Your right, no man and no woman just up and found each other and started going at it. The species as a whole, evolved from, perhaps more primitive species. In a related note. Wisdom teeth: We have not always had to pull them. Our jaws are infact getting smaller, and many attribute this to enhanced speech capabilities. If you look at what Archeologist have put together in a timeline of skeletons, this can be seen too. You may not believe this, but it is tangible evidence; it can be seen, and is somewhat ignorant (I dont like that word) if ignored.
As far as the atom thing goes, you got me and really know probably knows that for sure. I cant fully remember the inner workings of the Big Bang Theory, but I think you are right. It is somewhat hard to imagine that from a single atom, within seconds after the explosion, the universe was already the size of our own galaxy. I think this is one of those things that I said in my first paragraph. Yet, if you look at the workings of an atomic bomb, you might find that there may be validity in the Big Bang theory. The Russians actually exploded one that (as far as Discoverys Ultimate ten said) had three times the explosive power of every other explosion put together in WW2 (admittedly, this is somewhat vague.) But that all started from one atom, so who knows.
I for one would like to believe that there is a higher power for it definetly helps in your saddest times as in death and such. Also, supposedly, all the answers will come in heaven, so Ive heard, and that would be interesting. I was once fairly religious, not hardcore, but I unquestioningly believed. I dont know why, but I did start to question it in my early teens, and now as a person of science, I have trouble believing in something purely because Im told it exists, but never actually see it.
I think religion is good if you need it and it helps you, but if you are a good person without it, than thats fine too. Too me it just seems that some of the religious people I know, push it onto others, and are somewhat unaccepting when someone else does not believe. Here is where religious people, some not all, can be hypocritical, as is it not Gods will to love thy fellow neighbour?
Anyway, this is really long, and I did not mean to offend any believers, but only to show another side without getting all crazy mad.
