Screen Recording Program

Does anybody know a good program that allows you to record whats going on, on your laptop screen? I used to have a good program but my hard drive crashed and I forget what its called. +K for good suggestions.

i use screenflow for mac, very fast, and easy to use.
works like a charm
you can find a torrent of it somewhere.

I googled it but every program that comes up only records something like 15 fps and the ones that don't cost money
