Okay for all you Tahoe Locs I'm moving down there next season and I was wondering where I should get a pass. The above are my 3 choices because they are really cheap. What do you guys think is the best all around mountain?

depends on what you re looking for. I don't know anything about Kirkwood, but I know it's a good mountain. Alpine has good steep terrain and a decent part. Sierra has a good park and good terrain as well and you can hit northstar with that pass. Northstar has a good park, but it's pretty flat compared to the rest of the resorts. Also alpine and northstar are on teh northshore where as Kirkwood and sieraa are on the south shore area so where you live will play a big part in your decision.

kirkwood if you don't mind the drive for park and big mtn, then alpine, then sierra (sierra is really smalled besides the park)

^ I agree......i get really bored at Sierra if i don't go into the park. I think you should base your decision on where you are going to live in tahoe. If you live in south shore- go to Kirkwood........if you live in north shore- go to Alpine. Kirkwood and Alpine has very simular terrain

its a bit of a drive to kirkwood no matter where you live, but i fucking love that place, i'd say that a lot of mountains pale in comparison, regardless of being in tahoe or not. my suggestion is you check it out when you get down there. make the drive around.
we got it nice nice nice

man, if kirkwood were closer that place would be mine, but sierra is 30 min in comparison. Sierra isn't actually that small, and the park more than makes up for any shortcomings.

i had a pass to kirkwood last year and that place is bombdiggity. it sort of has an 'alta-like' vibe but with snowboarders. alpine meadows has more teleskiers (i'm assuming you tele, telestar) and their terrains rocks the boat too. forget sierra and northstar. they suck ass and are only good for park. i'm moving to tahoe city or truckee next season to ski at squaw. you have an extra room for another tele skier, telestar?

im also a fan of kirkwood, this has been my third season with a pass and i have never been disapointed. even though sierra is closer to me and all my friends get passes there, i still stick with kwood. alpine is excellent also if you are on that side of the lake

If you live in south lake you should get one to both Kirkwood and Heavenly. Heavenly is only $229 if your a student, its right in town too.. no driving at all is really nice, and the park is pretty sick. Kirkwood is only like $300 and there is good everything there. I would get the pass to heavenly along with wherever else you choose if you can afford it.

Come on anyone else. I only get one chance to do this so I want to make sure I go to the best hill.

you still havent told us where you plan to live, north or south shore or elsewhere. the north also has sugarbowl as a possibility or even squaw if you can fork out the cash.

Well I haven't said where I'll live because I'm basing that on where I ski. My friend wants to live in King's Beach, Tahoe city, or Truckee but since I want to ski Kirkwood I want to live in Southshore. Either way though I'm use to driving 3-3.5 hours to ski so anything within 2 hours is going to seem close.

if you wanna ski park and party with tourists, then you should stay closer to the lake. if you wanna skibum and SKI, then kirkweed. no doubt.

Sorry just had to get this one back on the main page so more people would post. I have to get some more opinions before I buy my pass. Does Kirkwood get better quality snow since it's up a lot higher than the others?
