yeah, they do. 1.8t's have potential...with a stage 3 tune and a big turbo upgrade, but what the hell doesnt? and what are you running on yours? im actually looking in to a mk4 gli, but im reading that some are extremely unreliable, which makes me very uneasy...

oh okay, it just seems that on vortex all of the mk4 owners poke fun at how their car is always having problem and what not. yeah, they are fun, but you sure as hell wont be running over everything in your town with it. youre on static correct?

and nice, my friends corrado that i was talking about is a stage 3 g60. hes swapping a 16v turbo (or possibly supercharged) over the winter. his brother is in the process of painting his coupe quattro, and has a b5 a4 that is stage 2 with a k04. and his cousin has a 16v gt2871r turbo in a mk1 cabby, as well as a mk1 jetta coupe he is working on.

incredibly jealous to say the least. they make me drool. not trying to claim what-so-ever, just wanted to share

1.8t is a shit engine. It costs far to much money to mod and are incredible money pits to keep running. The amount of problems on the chasis and motor of any 1.8t car is monsterous compared to many other options.... Just FYI.

say whaaaa- got the scholarship that I wanted so I dont have to pay as much (I pay for everything except for school which is 50/50 after all the scholarships are taken out- basically my goal is to pay cash from work and other car sales to pay for my half of the college- no debt upon graduation hopefully)

anywho so now I am looking around at some different coils- lots of people are recommending these- dampening, rebound, and height adjustable- springs are from HKS and everything else is designed by Max

and then just take it from there and try out some different rate setups over the winter

good coilovers are about a grand, you can deff. get cheaper ones. if you wanna run spacers, then thats like 100-200 ( atleast for my car) uhmmm wheels and tires can be stupid expensive.

BBS RS 16" - 2k

Montana green powdercoat on interior rims - 500 (maybe less, maybe more)

Some kind of coilovers with nice stance - 1k

total - 6500

Good luck man! I love mk2's. Pretty hard to find um with under 100k on them though. I would look for one without rust with a newer swap(vr6 swapped mk2's are really common and pretty cheap). But i like what your gonna do with it. Good luck either way man.
