I will answer you without being a complete cock to the best of my ability.
Basically after cruising all of the pics in this thread with the exception of a few you will notice a few things. All of the cars are lower and on different wheels than stock. There are a few different terms for stance out there. One of them being "flush". Basically that is when the top portion or lip of the rim if you drew an imaginary straight line up would be even with the fender well of the car. This is done through having wider wheels or using spacers to push the wheel out further. Some people will go further and will have the lip of wheel actually sit further out from the car than the fender. That will pretty much always require having a tire that is stretched to fit over the rim.... like so
You can really see it in the second picture. Most of the time to get a fitment with the rim poking out of the fender you will have to run obscene amounts of camber to get the wheels tipped in enough to not rip the fender off if you hit a bump. Basically instead of the tire sitting like this | it sits like \ to clear the fender. Some more terms people like to throw around are "stretch" and "poke" which are basically terms to say the tire is stretched, or the rim is poking out. Anyway, a combination of all of those parts are what contribute to a cars stance. So usually it is a combo of wheels, suspension, body parts, etc, to get it to have that look.
Hopefully that was helpful, I am somewhat new to the whole scene, but that is my best understanding.
