Thats it im moving to colorado!

Finally i got a job in the winter wonderland state of colorado.. im taking a job at a VW dealership in Denver and all though it may not be in summit county it is much closer then my present location of Agawam Mass! the armpit of america! anyway now i will be just a hr drive from breck and keystone so im pumped.. ill keep this job till i make some connections closer to the mountains then hopefully get a job in the ski industry.. dunno if this is the right forum but im pumped and wanted to share ... looking forward to the drive out and also the fact that there is Med. Marijuana in CO...which is sick..any advice anyone can give would be helpful.. thanks

my advice to you...
stay in the vdub industry lol. why the hell would you make the switch from big name dealer (im assuming some kind of tech/sales associate because why would you move that far to detail cars) to lifty. ski industry in summit county is wack as shit unless you want to be a lifty your whole life. much more room for advancement in vdub. maybe go get all your ASE certs like me. and you do know having a card will not make you exempt for places that drug test anyway - like car dealers.

also as of right now jobs can see that you have it and if you get a divorce you would lose custody of your kids. thats what ive heard btu wasnt sure if it was correct. pretty sure there trying to change that law though

well iv been selling cars a while now and your right there is room for advancement but skiing is my passion not selling cars and iv always wanted my goal in life to have a job doing something i love...Im not saying being a lifty forever but if thats what lets me get my foot in the door then so be it .. but i would prefer a sales job or something in customer service ..and i know they will still drug test..iv always been able to get around that one way or the other..Stoked to see my oppertunities out there

you are in for a big shock then my friend. with med/legal weed comes knowledge about every way to fake tests, knowledge both sides of the equation have. and you will most likely NEVER advance from lifty up in summit, period. the only people who advance in the ski industry in summit are ones that have given up on life haha.

have fun though. the skiing is pretty grand.

Denver is a lot better to live in then Summit. Ski Loveland too, no crowds with a weekday pass. Some of the worthless pros think people like us ski there because of them, but the truth is it's the best place to hit from Denver. Summit is pretty bad. It is overcrowded and the other guys are right, you won't advance and the people that have worked the ski areas for awhile are lame. Echo Park is close to Denver too without all that phony hype up in Summit. Really laid back place with a cool crowd. That would be a cool job, do you get a car??? Good mountain biking at Echo too. (I know where there's a foam pit there too.)

ya ur right i should check out the other less commercial ski mountains. I was in summit last winter and loved it but im def stoked to hit the places locals love....and ya bro I will have my car with me its not that great so it would be sick to carpool with some chill peeps
