Salomon 2011 Suspects vs. K2 2011 Revivals?

I went to my local ski store today and they were having a huge sale. I'm picking out all new ski stuff. I'm getting the new marker squire bindings, the 2011 salomon kreations. And I'm tied between 2 skis... The Salomon 2011 Suspects or the K2 2011 Revivals? I'm going back into tommorrow to buy my stuff so I need help deciding soon. Thanks

As far as I've heard, both of k2's park skis are sick this year. I haven't heard any reviews on the suspects and as you're probably aware, they have fallen apart in previous years. So either wait till someone rides suspects, or go with the revival. Keep in mind the rocker shape though, if you want normal, go suspects I guess.

Well I was talking to a few workers at the store today. And one has skied on both the Suspects and the Revivals. Him and I held up them side to side and were talking about them a lot. I know they've improved the durability of the Suspects a lot for the 2011 skis. And I'm pretty sure with a rockered ski like the Revivals, you either like it or you don't.

There were no changes made to the Suspects this year, I highly doubt the durability improved, if at all.

I know I'm a park skier. But I'm not out there doing kangaroo flips. This is my first park ski. Last year, my first year of park, I had some shitty all terrain twins. So I think I'll be okay with the Suspects

freeskier magazine gave the suspects a real good review, especially for someone who is just starting out.

Who cares? They rode the ski for an hour and liked it. The Suspect might ride well the first time, but the problem is that it's durability is awful.

True, Freeskier magazine gave them a great review but they didn't mention anything about the durability...

Exactly, you're not doing huge jumps all day and instead, might be hitting rails or other jibbable (new word) objects, which is what breaks suspects.

Yes. It should be like when you log on it pops up a window that say's "2011 skis are on the market, but whatever you do, stay away for the suspects, don't ask, just do it. dumbass"

if u can afford acouple pares of suspects a year they would be good,but in mosts cases peopel dont want to. my friend is sponserd by salomon and he went through 3 of them alst year and one of them being this years he said nothing was differnt. go with k2 my disordlys are in prime condition still with 70 days in them and only 1 small edge crack  suspects ull get about 10 in the first month......hope this helped

yeah i know i;ve never heard good things about those skis, but figured id just post that video to help the guy out. but yes one week of skiing on them def does no justice on durability i agree with that.

my disoredrelys are also in great condition, nothing wrong with any of the edges. I dinged up the bases a little. I ran something over and it almost stopped me completely, but the bases only have a little gash in them. Otherwise, the skis are super durable.

i rode 09/10 suspects and the 10/11 suspects and the durability was alot better

Just to let you know the ski has not been changed since it was developed. So please do not say that the durability was "a lot better".

and they fixed the side walla so they wont chip so much when u nik them with your edges....just soem thing to make your skis prettier............lol

Collin Collins was giving us his lowdown on his Hood summer on the new Revivals. This was his quote:

We did an all new top tooling on every single new twin tip this year. Dual roll-over to increase top impact durabilty. We are stoked on the results thus far. Check it in the stores. Here is a close-up pic too.

I skied The Revivals this summer and they were dope as hell for the week i used them. No chipping and you cant tell you have the rocker until it actually becomes a benefit with the traditional camber underfoot. Awesome ski for sure.
