Mac help needed.

OK this seemed like the best fit place to put this.

When i try to change my background on my macbook (and external screen) I can not. I will right click and hit change background and nothing pops up. Then when i go to system prefs, the option for desktop and screen saver is not there.

Help please.

sorry, that was just a terribly formulated joke.

As to your situation, try unplugging your external and changing it when its just your laptop monitor running. Thats the only thing i can think of...

well thats not the problem I kinda forgot this part.

And "it" referring to the computer itself, not the external screen.

that is truly bizarre... has to be a software issue. Try taking it to the "genius bar" or something.

not a bad idea but despite popular belief the geniuses arent much more helpful than calling applecare so call them and see what you can get before you go in to a store

Put your photo on your Desktop. Click the Apple in the top left corner (duh) and go to System Preferences. Click Desktop and Screen Saver. Then on the left there should be a scroll bar, click desktop in the folders, and choose your picture. I kind of lost you in your post soooo

try clicking show all? sometimes some prefs end up hidden.
