Go Pro 960????

I have talked to go pro and they have said there coming out with a product in December that can shoot up to 960i, it cannot be compatible with accessories such as LCD screen, battery extender, or 3D system. This is going to be sold for $179.99.
My question is, what is the point of this camera?? Its a step lower of the HD hero for like 25 dollars less?

hd helmet hero sells for 300, that is actually 120 dollars more. For a lot of people 120 is actually a big deal and it will convince a lot of people that didn't want to shell out that much to get the cam. Still a ton of uses without 1080 and 720P60.

Because unless your watching your video on a screen that was 1920 x 1080 pixels there wont be a difference in quality between the 1080p and 960i.

That being said. If the 960i version doesn't have a 720p mode, its out of the question for me

hmm, i thought it was coming out this fall.. and shot hd 960p 30fps, 720p 30fps and 60pfs... i thought it was pretty much just one step lower from the HD 1080p for a lower price, more affordable for people on a budget... but correct me if im wrong, because i was looking forward to this fall to buy it

the HD Hero is like 200 on ebay and 250 on goprocamera.com. I dont really see the point of buying this unless there is a upside to it, which right now is absolutly nothing.

gopro 960 will not have 720 60. And your average consumer does not look on ebay to find the cheapest option. obviously this isn't geared for you. This is geared for john who walks into best buy and sees a gopro for 180 bucks and is like aww sheet this would be cool on mah truuuuck.

i dont think it will be in the original waterproof housing do to lack off space but they could make a new housing that will also fit the screen. abek what do you know about this?

looks like the case is made so you can still use it for stuff attached to the back but just have a deeper back door that accommodates for a screen

um ok...
All I did was google GoPro LCD and that was one of the first things that come up. It wasn't from the Gopro website so I wasn't sure if it was aftermarket or direct from GoPro. I'm assuming the picture and info I posted is the same thing everyone is talking about with the LCD screen. It will be sweet when it comes out.
