Computer power to edit gopro footage?

Right now I have a computer that has a 1.66ghz dual core processor and 1 GB of ram. I edit my hdv footage from my hv30 just fine. I was looking to add to my set-up this winter with a gopro for some pov shots. Anyway I want to know if I could edit the 720p footage from the gopro with the computer I have right now?

probably, although i've found with final cut pro and a gopro using prores 422 as a compressor it runs really slow and my comp is 2.4ghz with 4gb of ram

I have edited go pro fottage on a computer of similiar specs. You should be fine it will just take a while.
