Help a retard kid i know

the kid isnt actually retarded.
i know a kid and he's into park skiing a little. he wants to get a 170 ski and he is 5'11 and 155 pounds. hits jumps that are like 15 max. does some rails. now i told him that he needs a 178 ski at least. who is right?

only he will know what size is right for him. if he doesnt feel good and 178s, then he shouldnt get them

178-183 park ski would be pretty proper.  Fortunately, he could survive on 170's and may feel more comfortable with them.  Experience increases length, just as a hooker might.  What I'm trying to tell you is he should get whatever he wants.  If he wants a 170 ski, so be it.  Seeing as how he appears to be new to park skiing he might actually fare better with some shorter sticks.
