Yet another thread with SO MUCH potential being drown by the tight, relentless grip of the NSG-tards pulling it deeper and deeper into the abyss... so much could have been intelligently discussed, so many ideas and theories explored.

Ok Spork. I have read some brilliant arguments, awesome points and logical reasoning. But, you have denied them ALL calling it faith, so you call everyone dumb except those that moderately agree with you. You havent moved your position, not even the slightest.

So yeah, you have a conclusion and you make your observations based on your conclusion. You call the flat earth society idiots because they deny facts, well your no better. The only difference is that there are a shitload more people like you.

what a stupid thread.... why would it put an end to religion?   it doesn't say in anyones  bible/koran/torah  that god didn't make other life on any other planets....  so who the fuck cares.  we're not going to find any other life forms, and if we do it won't be for thousands of years.  by that point you'll be dead,  so it doesn't concern any of us

depending on what information they would bring, maybe.

although religion will die with time, they may speed up the process.

most religions believe that we are the only beings in the universe they tend to disagree with science that there are other life forms and if in fact another life form was found away from our planet, wouldnt that prove that religion and there beliefs are flawed.

aren't there millions of other planets out there?  I would say there is definitely a good chance of life elsewhere.  I don't believe that we will ever contact these other life forms though,  they would be soo unbelievably far away that we would have to develop light speed to get there.  and i blieve we will have killed ourselves or run out of resources by then.

Speaking as a Christian, if extra-terrestial life made itself known (or we discovered it), my faith would not be affected.  Like others have already said here, it doesn't state anywhere in the bible that there is no other life than on earth.  That doesn't mean that there is, and it doesn't mean that there isn't.  Therefore..... it doesn't really matter as far as the bible goes.

what if you found extraterrestrial life and they believed in god?

After reading the last two pages it seems to me that most on this site still have a shallow philosophy on "god" and the universe. Our knowledge of the known universe and its history is so incomplete how can you make conclusions about anything that is beyond our means of investigation.
