First ski buy

Hey guys im looking around for a new pair of skis for the 10/11 winter. Ill be in Japan (Niseko) for the whole season teaching so i need a ski thats going to be able to carve the groomers but obviously being in Japan needs to be able to float through the pow. Iv never done any types of jumps/rails but keen to get into it, aswell as some back country. Im about 190cm and 75kg. 

So far iv been looking at the 2010 Line Blends with Marker Jester Schizo bindings from Evo but to be honest i have no idea if this is right for me..

Also what poles are good/bad?

Any help will be greatly appreciated cheers

In your situation I would be looking for something 95-100mm ish underfoot preferably with a bit of rocker yet camber underfoot.
Look into:
-ON3P Jeronimo
-Rossignol S3
-K2 Kung Fujas
-Salomon Shogun
-Line Prophet 100

All great for all around. The prophet particularly is awesome on groomers and I would happily teach on it, however it is the only non rockered one on the list so not quite as good in the soft stuff.

if you want something a bit stiffer

maybe look at some 09/10 surface watch lifes in a 182, unrockered, fairly stiff with 100 under foot.. theyr floating round pretty cheap atm

otherwise you'll do fine on the blends

pole wise, all are good pretty much however if you want to get serious in the park look at something with smaller grips, line darts or joysticks, but thats not really essential
and if your just starting out better off nicking/borrowing some rentals cause youll most likely snap/bend them

Also check out the Surface One Life. Great all mountain ski and also surisingly fun and agile in the park. Also look into the Armada JJ (awesome do everything skis that kill pow), Rossignol S3 and S6, Volkl Gotama (great skis), and the Amplid Rockwell (again, super sick skis). The Line Blend also soundes like a good choice but I've never skied it.

I think the ON3P Jeronimo or the K2 Kung Fujas will do you perfectly.  As for poles, it doesn't really matter that much.  I have the Joystick Spicollis and they do me fine.  I got them for 20 bucks.

Cheers for all the help guys, having a look at the on3p skis i was wondering can you only buy them from their site? Living in Australia there aren't any shops near me so i would have to buy over the net but i havnt seen any online stores that stock on3p

Poles are poles. I have some ex-rental aluminium ones for all-mountain and some Rossi kid poles for park. They're just for improving your balance and stopping your technique from getting sloppy. You can spend a lot of money to get composite or carbon fibre poles, but like the others said, they're pretty disposable, especially if you ski park.

on3p will ship to oz for around a hundred bucks if I remember correctly, which is cheaper than allot of online retailers anyway, but just send them an email and ask
