I remember learning that Hitler actually thought that one of his uncles or something was Jewish so one of the first things he did was have the entire village where his uncle lived exterminated.

Honestly, Hitler's actions did wonders for Germany economically. He found a common cause for Germans to unite around (unfortunately it happened to be genocide on multiple fronts), provided a demand for jobs (war production), and made Germany the absolute cutting edge in new technology (they had the atom bomb almost finished when the Russians got into Germany, and again, they caused Einstein to flee the country). It's incredibly unfortunate that Hitler was such a nut job and the Holocaust was the worst humanitarian disaster of at least the last 500 years, but the man was a political and economic mastermind.

People have speculated this since Hitler came to power.  His father is the illegitimate son a Jew.  His father never knew who his father was so there was doubt about whether or not Adolf was part Jew.

I read a book on Hitler for class, and it said that when he first came to power, he made this one town the open fire range for training for new soldiers, the same town that his mother was buried in, and well, after the training and hitlers reign, you couldn't read a single grave stone in the cemetery in the town.........

Basically, he indirectly covered up his mothers religion, smart dude realy
