I get squirtle so I can pwn Brock, then get a collection of grass pokemon to pwn Misty, and then capture a few digletts and fucking destroy Lt. Sarge, and by this time i will have my pikachu all suped up with thunderbolt, and then it's all easy breezin' from that moment on, since my wartortle (yeah it evolved, fuckers), is boss enough by now to fuck any trainer up on it's own.
