Helmet good or bad?

hey i was wondering if the k2 rant pro helmet was a good comfortable and safe helmet???

^^^Sorry about that guy man, not everyone is like that.

Generally speaking, if a helmet fits well it should be just as safe as any other (for your basic brain bucket).  If you can find one to try on, that would be best.  Otherwise it isn't that risky to order one and hope for the best.  The worst that could happen is you return it.

all helmets are safe.

all helmets come with pad kits to make it comfortable.

haha well yeah but my last helmet the pading and stuff was all screwed up so it wasnt that comfy

okay.. well that is most likely user error putting the pads in wrong, not the fault of the helmet.

just go try helmets on until you find one that fits correctly.

any helmet you get for like $70 and up will be a really good, safe, comfortable helmet. what helmet did you used to have?

sorry i didnt mean my last helmet but now  i have a giro and its been like 3 or 4 years since the messed up one but i cant remember what helmet it was

ok, i was just guessing that the helmet that you had / have is kind of a cheap, crappy helmet. i've had crappy helmets when i was younger, they're uncomfortable, have bad ventilation and your head gets hot, etc. i have a giro revolver right now and its really nice and comfortable. i'm not saying get that helmet, but the revolver was $70, anything for around that price and up will be a very legit helmet that you will like.

You don't have to spend that much, i got my smith holt for $50 and it is the warmest, comfiest thing ever. As an added bonus, if you have smith goggles, they vent better through slots in the helmet forehead area.

yea, i actually got my revolver for like $50, but i meant a helmet that retails for like $70, as in, an nice helmet.

Take a bern hardhat for instance:  Not rated for any impact at all, virtually useless for a fall at speed.

A Bern hardhat is a hardhat... A Bern helmet is a helmet.  They call them hardhats for a reason.

They are marketed as helmets.  Hardhat is the name of their multiple impact technology.  They arent actually hardhats, they are helmets, relatively ineffective ones at that.

They aren't certified as helmets, and because of that, Bern doesn't advertise them as helmets, they just advertise them with their other real helmets.

A helmet is just a protective device worn on the head.  It is indeed a helmet, just not one rated for winter sports or really anything for that matter.  I am not going to argue semantics.

helmets are too much weight on your head and will increase swing weight, which means you wont be able to spin

They still specifically tell you it's a hardhat though.  Maybe if someone was misinformed, they would think it were a helmet.  But for most, they should know it's not certified as a helmet.  If they did advertise their hardhats as a helmet, and someone went and got a concussion or something because it was a terrible "helmet", Bern could get sued for false advertising.

So pretty much, you have to be pretty stupid to buy a Bern hardhat expecting it to be a helmet.
