So i am getting one Kicker CompVR Sub for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler X either a 10" or 12" and custom box and all.


What i was wondering is if this (link below) amp would do well with this sub and how hard might it be to install it all myself. The stereo box is the stock stereo in case that makes a difference on the difficulty.

its pretty hard to do yourself from what i heard. i have like 5 friends who got subs but they all just got it done by someone else at a store or something

not true my friend knows nothing about cars and whet on http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VloUaMOLKHM/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_installation_guide.html and was able to do it took him about one day

yeah that helped but i think ill probly go to a car audio dealer and have em install it.

im to lazy to click the links and find out but you just need to find out the RMS for the sub and make sure the amp is capable of pushing it to that.

systems are not to hard to install if you are using and aftermarket deck. If you plan yo use the stock deck then it is pretty tricky and you have to get a converter and splice it into your speaker wire to run cables to your amp.. all in all it is not to hard but i would recommend getting a deck with sub controls or else your speakers will sound real distorted.

this is good info^

and to the poster i looked at your links and the sub will give you and alright amount of bass but the amp really isnt good. you cant get enough power from it to power the sub properly. look for an amp that will push at least 400 rms watts maybe even a single channel mono block because your only running one sub. amazon doesnt have a very good selection so check ebay for better deals.

if you wanna maximize the subs sound buy the biggest box that you have room for, the bigger the box the harder it will hit.

thats a 2 channel amp though. you could use it but you should probably look into mono blocks.

yeah that would be a nice setup though but for real don't wire it yourself if you don't know how, you have to run a wire from your battery to your amp and another one from a some metal in your car, and if you don't have a newer deck its a bitch to wire in

Did it myself in a few hours. Ran all the wires under the carpet/under trim pieces. You can't see any of the wires till you get to the back of the car. Make sure you have an aftermarket deck!
