ok so im thinking of getting the pipe cleaner, im 52 110 pounds and im prob getting a 166 if that is too big PLEASE TELL ME. I want to get the 2010 version because it will be cheeper than the 2011 and correct me if im wrong but i was told that there was no change other than the color. my only concern with getting the pc's is the base, I'm thumbs up for extra speed but worried about durability. I dont do tons and tons of rails but i want to get better at them this year so im worried that that will damage the base a ton i also want to take it ofer crud every wonce and a wile it would be rare but it will happen and im woried about deep scratches and how deep can a scratch be to the point where wax cant fix it I just want to make sure im not makeing a bad decision. +k for advise
I have a pair of PC's and love them. If I were you I'd get the 171's. Use mine on rails all the time and haven't had a single problem with the bases. Real fun and poppy ski for sure. Really light swing weight too so spinning on and off rails is almost effortless. Get em for sure.
166 sounds perfect for you, I wouldent go any smaller possibly a 171, but go 166, Pipe Cleaners do have a fast base, but the base doesnt, mean It wont be as durible, It just means you will take a bit better care, as far as waxing you might need too a couple times more then you would think, I used them all season and loved them, only waxed them one time a month and went up a good amount of times hitting 3 or 4 rails every run, dont worry about the bases there are no stories that i have herd about the bases getting messed up.
I do, and they are just as durable as any other ski I've had. Grab a 166ish size for your height and enjoy the speed! If you don't wax, they slow down significantly so keep on it.
i just have one more question. where should i set the binding? im thinking true center because im almost only going to do park but i haer a lot of people saying that they set there park skis not true center what do you guys think?
Yes i have owned pipe cleaners and i liked them a ton but i still think a small kid like you should at least get the 166 thall, it will be easier for you to flex it seeing as you weigh so little.
