Final Cut Express 4 Halp

hello,

I recently bought final cut express 4 to start editing movies from my gopro. I have a Mac OS X with a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Whenever i try to render my 1080p videos, it takes nearly 45 minutes to render a 3 minute video.

why is it taking so long to render the video?

Are you trying to render the raw footage? Transcode it to a format like ProRes LT or Apple Photo-JPEG using MPEGstreamclip or something similar. After that is done, import into FCP, make sure the timeline settings match, and you should be good to go.
