Covering the top of a desk with stickers?

I randomly got this idea a few days ago. If anyone has pics of anything similar to this, please post em up.

The idea: i have a desk in my dorm room obviously. i would cover the top neatly with clear duct tape. then over the duct tape, i would cover every inch with all the stickers in my sticker collection. i feel like it would look quite cool

if anyone is wondering why i would cover the top with duct tape, it would be to easily peel off the strips at the end of the year

depending on what surface your desk is you shouldnt use duct tape

1) they have clear sticky foil, it's used to cover books with and is probably 10x easier to apply then strips of clear ducttape + cheaper....
2) disadvantage of stickers is that on a work surface like your desk they will wear out, ie. if you have a Red & white Peak performance sticker or something, it's basically a white plastic sticker with a red printed logo on it; after some time the red will wear/scratch off and you'll be left with a blank space ....

but anyways, that'll probably be very local (i have a stickered mousepad and every sticker has worn off and is now plain white...)

potential problem if you're trying to write/draw neat lines on your desk, and the tip of pencil hits the edge of stickers, that could make things messy, maybe another layer on top of the stickers to prevent this problem AND prevent wearing down stickers?

Why do you need to peel them off. Are you stickering somebody elses desk? Put a peace of acrylic or clear tape over the top after.

I have a huges dicky's sticker in the center of my table, lifes short party naked, and a bunch of snowboard and band stickers all over
