humans should start realizing that we're animals too. dinosaurs were around for millions of years, than just died very quickly. the only animals that have survived time are insects like spiders and cockroaches. (they've been around since plants started growing on land...

we're all gonna die soon anyways. and the bigger the animal, the bigger the chances are of us becoming exstinct. just 'cause we are the first intelligent life form on the earth, doesn't mean we will be the last. we'll get killed sooner or later.





If 10 000 years down the road another ice age starts to happen, will we try to stop it? think about what that means.

i don't agree with any of the political groups in my country (canada). they're all full of lies anyways.

i agree with european government. i say kill all the politisions (sp?) and start over. that - or canada needs a civil war. which i guess would result in the death of the leader of the country.

Actually, voting is the single most important thing you can do in a democratic society. If you don't feel like voting for any candidate, you can go to your local polling station and refuse your ballot, which is recorded in official election results. It's a much better option than just not voting.

And btw, though you're still allowed to have your opinion, if you don't vote, you definitely should not be allowed to bitch about politics.

Now that we're done with that little bit of unpleasantness, we can discuss political threads on NS. It's easy, NS simply isn't a forum that is decent enough for meaningful political discussion. So it probably all gets deleted. Some of you still need to learn that NS is good for one thing, and one thing only: Talking shit about skiing, sex, drugs, and chicks. And not necessarily in that order.



Freezy deletes all my posts because he doesn't like me, so I suggest you message him to make him stop.

I was going to say the refusing the ballot thing that Jib_This said. Sitting at home is plain and simply the wrong thing to do. If you cannnot in any way, shape or form bring your self to vote for one of the candidates, let your country know that by refusing to.

Ok, if you aren't going to vote because you don't like any of the cantidates, then go in, and tell them you refuse your ballot. Sends a clear message.

Secondly, just because people can and do vote doesn't mean they suddenly gain some extraordinary insight into politics. Historically, statistics show that the two major common factors in who is elected president are their height and their hair. Besides which, there are a lot of people too young to vote who have more political knowledge than nine tenths of the adult population of the US.

Lastly, Irishdrink, did you say you should support your country and it shouldn't matter who's in office?!? If that's what you're saying, support the president of the US just because he's your president... well, in that case, I don't think you should be making any political statements either. I may have got the wrong idea about what you were saying, but that's what it sounded like.

but seriously. the war on iraq is a war about oil. and it's a war that the states can't win (just like vietnam), but they've already gone in there so there's no point in arguing about that anymore. all there is to do now is educate yourself, realize that cnn is just american propaganda (don't believe anything, or if you want to believe, be critical), and if you don't agree with what Bush is doing than don't vote him back into office (or if you arn't old enough but think your smart enough to hold your own go at your parents and see what they have to say about it.

he's just trying to finish what his dad started.

I have always laid my argument down with an open mind. and to the care bear person, you are sending mixed messages because first you said you can bitch, but then you cant, so im confused. all I am saying is that, voicing your support, is the same thing as complaining just a different opinion. There is no reason why someone shouldn't be able to voice their opinion because it isn't 'nice' because nice is completely relative. First ammendment of the constituition is freedom of speech, and everyone should be able to voice their thoughts in no observation of their age, gender, race etc.

well personally i think and feel that positive comments will get you farther in life. not looking at the bad side of things. i know ive made my share of negative comments, so no need to copy and paste what ive said, cause i really dont care. and 'preaching' as you put it, verses bitching are not the same at all. and if i was preaching, at least that means i know what im talking about, whereas bitching is just complaining.

you can complain about something and make a good point. it's just as legitimate as supporting something, there a is a reason behind both things, every opinion is valid and constructive despite whether it is viewed as positive or negative. sure there are exceptions, but a lot of the time it's not just 'bitching'
