Why lacrosse is better than football

So this may have occured to many previously but whatever i just realized this when talking about it at dinner.

Football you stand around (at practice) and wait to do somthing roughly 8 seconds (averageish time of a play). Lax you do drills for much longer, but it seems like the wait is much longer.

Secondly its an attiude thing. Football is all about being the biggest most badass mutha fucka in the world, and trying to convince yourself that your more pumped up on testosterone than every other player on th other team. so basically being a hyped up dutch. this is fine on the feild, as a fair amount of this goes on for lax, but it does not carry back off the feild. you must live your life in a similar fashion.

In general, lacrosse players (from my perspective) are just more mellow in general, knowing they can kick most peoples ass, but choosing not to broadcast it blatantly to people. Any ways i guess this is just a big rant but ive been doing 2 a days for the past week and i miss lacrosse.

thoughts opinions and comments on this point of view?

this is such a stupidass conversation and is a huge part of why people think laxers are d bags. You need to stop trying to prove lax to anyone just play and have fun, why compare it to other sports?

east vs west with lacrosse is pretty comparable to the east vs west situation with skiing. i wouldn't necessarily say the style of play is different, but i would say the attitude towards the sport is. though i dont think i can make a fair judgement on it, ive only played against two teams from west coast and they seemed like pretty cool cats. its much newer and catching on big in the west, where as on the east things have been fairly established for some time. im just pleased to see it getting more national recognition.

I play lacrosse and I agree that most lax players are douchebags.
That being said everyone will always have a different opinion on which sport is better and that would be the one that they play and/or get the most enjoyment out of.

same with me... the point is the better hits come out of football games, the bigger and nastier hits. Lacrosse hits are fucking gay and rarely happen, unless its box. In that case thats the lax i like to watch

you're comparing lacrosse hits against football hits? are you retarded? obviously football hits are harder because the sport revolves around being jacked and hitting. in lacrosse the big hits are another perk in the game. and they happen more than you think. I'm assuming you don't lax

Lax all the way. It just takes more coordination and is a legit team sport. Also it is faster. Not to say I don't like football, but i do understand the attitude of both sports.

But every kid who has touched a lacrosse stick cannot just call themselves a lax bro... its earned.

honestly us laxers are chill dudes. were cocky as a motherfucker but we know how to kick ass. with the flow, turf dogs, mid calves, perogies and a sweet pair of shades were ready. football doesnt have a whole relaxation lifestyle behind it. lax does. you gotta be lax to play lax. plain and simple.

here it is...unless you've put on both pads, lacrosse, and football...you really have no first hand experience of hitting. Football is much harder hitting sport, but thats how its supposed to be, the goal is to tackle.. lacrosse is a much more agile sport where speed and quickness is needed, and hitting is a part also but not as much. Plus in lacrosse you have 6ft metal poles getting swung at your arms all the time, which hurts. anyone who argues soccer is ignorant and i cant really speak for rugby beacuase i've never played it and its not a very popular sport here in the US.

second lacrosse is one of the most boring sports to watch period. i rather watch the PGA tour than lacrosse and that is saying something as i hate golf. ive tried to watch lacrosse many times. the only lacrosse that is enjoyable is the indoor pro but still it doesnt comare with hockey or football.

growing up in a place where HS football isnt a big deal and lacrosse is everything i realized that "lax bros" are just a collection of cocky douches with large egos. i have seen many a lacrosse player start shit and not finish it.

2nd why would good athletes play lacrosse?its a dead end, if your good enough you might get a free ride at johns hopkins or duke but after than what is lacrosse gonna do for you?

you just sound mad that football has more notoriety than lacrosse.
