Why lacrosse is better than football

So this may have occured to many previously but whatever i just realized this when talking about it at dinner.

Football you stand around (at practice) and wait to do somthing roughly 8 seconds (averageish time of a play). Lax you do drills for much longer, but it seems like the wait is much longer.

Secondly its an attiude thing. Football is all about being the biggest most badass mutha fucka in the world, and trying to convince yourself that your more pumped up on testosterone than every other player on th other team. so basically being a hyped up dutch. this is fine on the feild, as a fair amount of this goes on for lax, but it does not carry back off the feild. you must live your life in a similar fashion.

In general, lacrosse players (from my perspective) are just more mellow in general, knowing they can kick most peoples ass, but choosing not to broadcast it blatantly to people. Any ways i guess this is just a big rant but ive been doing 2 a days for the past week and i miss lacrosse.

any sport that doesnt teach mutual team playing is a terrible sport, like football.

LAX players spend about 59% of their time trying yo validating their sport and gain acceptance from everyone even though we really dont care, 40% just plain being d-bags, and the last 1% actually playing lacrosse

football is fantastic, watch it, play it, i don't care. I am watching the preseason right now, maybe Detroit will actually win a game, history is being made as we speak. Play techmo bowl then madden 93 (SNES) and follow that up with madden 97 (SNES), you will be satisfied. Drink some beer with you friends and watch the game, it will not dissapoint. Hell, next time you are out with a group of guys and girls start up a game, you will thank me later.

I was actually havin this conversation at football practice today, as I play both and I find lacrosse to be better. It is a lot more mellow and I prefer the athletic aspects of it more. In football, I sprint for 8 seconds, get hit hard, then spend a minute doing nothing, all while possibly never getting any action (I play inside linebacker). In lacrosse, I'm constantly running, and the game moves faster. In conclusion, football

what does time have to do with a sport ? cool sports are layed out differently than others.

lax players are douchebags, their style is fucking retarded, their lingo is fucking retarded, and half of them can't even lax. coming from NY where i think most of the good lax players come from, sure NY can lax, still doesn't make up for their douchebagness.

lax hits are pussy hits and i guarantee any half hard nosed football player could fuck up a lax players day.

The attitude thing is completely off, sure it's true at a highschool level, but at any sort of advanced play, you get humbled whether you want to or not. There's ALWAYS going to be someone a bit stronger than you, a bit faster than you, or a bit more experienced than you. At a highschool level that doesn't happen, because 85 percent of kids do off-season training with their team, don't make any gains or do not take it seriously and complain when they don't perform like NFL stars during the season.I've seen a lot of kids go from my school to play at university, then just quit because they can't handle not playing as a Freshman because they're simply not good enough.

What I meant to say in the second part,

I play highschool and OVFL, I'm decidedly less good in OVFL. Still not shabby, but I don't get 4 sacks a game and am allowed to do whatever I want.

Middle Linebacker, and fullback. 99 percent of anything I do of any importance is done on defense, sure I'll make a good block every once in a while and take a screen pass, but that's not too often.

Our defensive co-ordinator(I shudder even calling him that) lets me and my friend Grant do whatever the fuck we want, it's kinda nice because we can completely read a play wrong, fuck up SOOOOOO bad, then blame it on someone else.

really? because the biggest douche bags i've ever met have always played lacrosse. check out the westminster lacrosse team in slc utah. they go to parties to try to start fights with people and this isn't uncommon from experiencing other schools lax teams. honestly lax is dying and i'm fucking happy it is because all it attracts are fucking scumbags that have no real talent. lax is on the same level of roller blading except roller bladers aren't bro, roided, insecure fucks.

Yeah

No offense, but the only Lacrosse player I know aside from some kid from Oshawa that rapes everyone's face, is Dubsman on here. He's by no means a big guy, or someone who you'd think to be a scary monster asskicker.

and i kind of fucking hate threads and conversations like this, the only kids that need to waggle their lax wieners and brag about the sport they play are the kids that just started playing in high school and subsequently think theyre the shit because of it. ive been playing the game for ten years now and i see it everywhere i go, it puts a bad name on the sport. amateur shit

Im a soccer myself so obviously i think it is better than both haha.

Lacrosse is just running a round hitting people with your stick.

Football is actually only played for on average 12 minutes. That is just ridiculous to me, out of the 60 minute game the ball is only in play for 12 minutes.

it's a fact, footballers are pussies who roll around for no reason only to get up when they realise the ref isn't looking. italians are especially bad.

it's disgraceful and football as a sport should be embarrassed. put any footballer on a rugby pitch, they'd die.

AMHERST, Mass.—Eight athletes have been suspended from the University of Massachusetts lacrosse team for what the school describes as a violation of team rules.

I played soccer for 14 years, loved it. Its too bad that the pros make it look like a pussy sport by faking injuries to get a stupid free kick or something.

I've never played football, but i love watching it!

Hockey is a badass sport too, a sport that involves fights are awesome!

Never even watched a lax game, so nothing to say on that...

Except I've been playing for 7 years... Huh and theres done pretty valid arguments. I wonder if living in the west coast compared to the eat makes a difference, I know they lax over there is at a diffrent level, even if we do have sone kids being recruited for d1 2 and 3 school. I guess it all a matter of what you've been playing longer and where your passion is. At least we can all agree skiing is the best haha
