newest book in the series, mockingjay comes out on the 24th. first time i have been excited for a book in a while. anyone else going to read it/like the hunger games series

The only thing I loathe about the book is the main girls name. Why Katniss????? Why not something like Kate?

stoked. and district twelve gets nuked too show everyone too listen too directions and district 13 is where the ufo type thing takes them after they escape the games winners reunion battle. and the hunger games is book one. catching fire is book 2 and mockingjay is book 3(when it comes out)

world goes down due to nuclear holocaust, new opressive government gains power, peoples lives suck, they have the hunger games to show the people whose boss. basicly they're a thing with 24 people (boy and girl from each district) they put in this huge arena thing and have fight/survive until theres only one left. with a lot of twists. its super awesome, read it

Okay, how many of you fans have read the Battle Royale novel, manga, or seen the movie? I'd like to hear some opinions about similarities (like ElGato said, the film adaptation is incredible and always relevant).

fyi: i went for a week and 2 days without eating solid food. strictly liquid when i was in the hospital. totally unrelated.
