Euchre question

me and my friend both think differently on the subject of when you are dealer in euchre and want to pick up the card you flipped up.

my friend thinks that you must have a card in your hand other than the jack in order to pick up. for ex, i turn up queen of clubs, and i have a jack of clubs in my hand, he thinks i cant pick it up.

I have played where you must have a natural in order to pick it up. so you cant pick it up if you have the jack of spades only or you have no clubs at all

This kid is an idiot. You can pick up any card no matter what your hand is, ive been playing euchre since I was a kid.

yea idk what all these people are talking about, like, if someone orders you to pick it up are u supposed to say "no, I dont have any trump so I dont want to cuz I'll lose"
